Georgia's DC Mel Tucker, announcement after the SEC championship game. 3 season at Georgia with NFL experience before that. never been a head coach other than a interim stint in the NFL. seems an odd fit

This seems like a really odd hire to me. He has spent his entire career in FL, AL, IL, WI, and OH. Not sure how that works in recruiting TX and CA and playing in a west coast conference. Don't recall his name ever being thrown out there for any openings before, and it seems like there were some good coaches available. I guess you could compare it to the Cristobal hire since his background was in the South, but at least he had one year under his belt in the PAC-12 before getting the job. I really can't see this guy doing any better than McIntyre, but for OSU's sake, I hope he is a complete failure.
