He didn't have a choice in leaving early. You always have a choice, especially as a sophomore.

Correct. and chances are he just quit. Because grades are checked often. If he was in a bad spot and was going to be ineligible, he could of sucked it up and did his work and gotten eligible next season. He did not. He quit.

Character counts. OK, he flunked out and didn't get an education. Then, he played pro ball at a high level and you know he made a significant amount of money and had access to many resources, both of which could have helped him have a productive life. He elected to throw it all away. Not the last time we will be reading about him.

Then, he played pro ball at a high level and you know he made a significant amount of money and had access to many resources, both of which could have helped him have a productive life. Grades are checked often, tutors are assigned, babysitters are assigned, professors are even nudged - my buddies wife was a math instructor during the MR1/Erickson years (she had some frightening stories). Yes this happens. And let's not pretend he was in the college of engineering.

In Browner's case, it is pretty well established he like drugs and he wasn't exactly a model citizen. We can put two and two together on this one.
