Have you eaten at Mod? Granted, they don't have a thick crust, gotta go to Pieology for that. Once, never again...... All crust and no toppings. I mean, you can just ask for more... that is the whole point of Mod pizza...

You must’ve ordered off the menu on the wall, most of those have limited toppings and are very ho hum to say the least. I did that at the Portland airport the first time I saw the place, then afterwards found out you can have any toppings you want, and that literally means all of the toppings. Next time I did it was in Bend, it was lunch time and a good portion of people ordered off the wall and the rest loaded up. Night and day differences between the pizzas. They dont one give you tons of any one thing, but by the time you put everything but anchovies and pineapple on top you’ve got a pizza with literally almost an inch of toppings on top. An 11 inch pizza with that much toppings for 8 bucks is an amazing deal. I would not choose to go there for a 4 ot 5 topping pizza, but for a 30 topping pizza it’s a terrific bargain. Corvallis might not be a good town for them to come into, too many kids with huge appetites loading up and a whole bunch of others looking to make a pizza loaded enough to last 3 days. They might not make money here.

Sounds like Mod should have been given the contract to install the foundation for the MSC in Newport. Could have put enough toppings on it to get it out of the tsunami zone!
Go Beavs!!

The last few times I had Woodstock’s it was great/mediocre/great/mediocre, seemed to vary depending on who made it. It was also about 12 bucks for a 8 inch pizza by the time I put the toppings I wanted on it. American dream has been consistently good, don’t get down there much though. Lately I’ve been doing 12 dollar Tuesdays at Papa Murphys and doctoring them up at home. I still only have pizza maybe 6-12 times a year if not traveling.

Woodstocks is ok, but I have a big problem in that they pile on the veggies and then don't bake it long enough, the center of the pizza is soggy. Dream is still the best place around, but I have a soft spot for Pietro's of Salem, just off Market. It was the pizza of choice back when Salem was the bright lights of high school students from the small towns coming in to cruise the gut or take in a movie.

My best memories of the end of grad school for me was the roof of the downtown American Dream in the summer time, killing a pizza and a couple of adult beverages from the crowbar.

I will say this, a fully loaded 8 buck Mod pizza is as good as, or better than, a 5/6 item 12 buck Woodstock's pizza (on a good day), unless you're really into the crust ring around the edge. Woodstock's and American Dream both have the edge on bread. Since I'm trying to avoid bread to some extent it's not a factor for me. If I want bread I'd go for American Dream or a Papa Murphy's double stuffed any day over the bunch of them.

Mod Pizza is absolute trash and Dream/Woodstocks would wipe the floor with them in Corvallis. But, these guys are taking $8 pizza... get what you pay for. Yep, kinda the point there. cheap, fast, pick what you want. In a world of cheap fast pizza, I am picking Mod over any mall pizza on this planet. I am taking Mod over $5 hot and ready little caesers all day everyday. I take my family there somewhat regularly because the Mod here in Salem is pretty big on fundraiser nights. I am going for somebody's band/sport team/club/DC trip or whatever all the time! I think Mod would be a huge hit in Corvallis. Woodstocks has greatly gone downhill in my opinion, and while I LOVE the Dream... the dream is a higher end pizza with the prices to match. We have to compare apples to apples. A place like the Dream ain't trying to be a place like Mod. poor college kids would love a fast, good, pizza for $8. Especially if opened somewhere in walking distance to campus.

But, having college kids recently they say the $5 ubakes from Winco are the steal in Corvallis... great buy and taste/options.

Well that idiot has overseen a period of near-unprecedented growth, fund-raising, academic and capital improvements in the university's history. And perhaps the scientists who study these things have discerned a difference in how a tsunami may impact Coos Bay-North Bend and Newport, which are more than 100 miles apart. Maybe, maybe not. A lot of smart people make very stupid mistakes, even when presented with ample evidence to the contrary. That's why there are 58,000 names on the Bob McNamara/MacGeorge Bundy/Dean Rusk/Bill Bundy/Maxwell Taylor/JFK/LBJ Wall in Washington, D.C. Dont forget Nixon. 20,000 of those names belong to him.

Without those other guys, there's no cluster for Nixon to inherit because we followed the advice of the advisors on the ground, realized the people in the North and South supported Ho, and were out of there by 1963. In fact, Nixon doesn't get elected in the first place, Johnson serves a second term. But Nixon did plenty of damage in the 1950's "We lost China to communism" raft of BS era that led to McCarthy and the hatred of all things Russia that negatively impacted US foreign policy in the Far East for the next 20 years, leading us to believe South Vietnam was even worth defending, propping up a puppet state like Taiwan, and acting as if "Red China" did not even exist.
