An OSU football game isn’t on broadcast TV. Whatever you do, make sure you start a 2nd separate thread about the topic.

Efforting... It could be worse. Getting live streamed on my space? It doesn't seem to work with Netscape Navigator. Guess I'm screwed.

An OSU football game isn’t on broadcast TV. The last time that an OSU football game did not appear on television? September 3, 2011 Sacramento State 29 - OREGON STATE 28
The last time that an OSU road football game did not appear on television?

You guys know there are like $20 things you can plug into your TV (provided your house has wifi) that will make it so you can watch this game on your televisions, right?
I really don’t understand the pearl clutching about this not being on a cable network. More and more people cancel their cable subscriptions every month. This is like being mad the new Taylor Swift Album won’t be available on Compact Disc, or that you can’t find Avengers on DVD.

November 21, 2009 Oregon State 42 - WASHINGTON STATE 10I'll be watching the game tomorrow on my television. I'm guessing more people will have access to the game tomorrow than would have access to it if it was "on television."

A "billion" folks can access a game via cable, satellite, network without usage overload glitches. With out dedicating enough bandwidth (no idea how FB determines or assigns) and depending on an individual's internet provider having 10k watching in certain areas could be an issue. "TV" vs wifi streaming is not an apple to apple comparison when it comes to accessibility and being technologically sound. The good news this isn't their first rodeo.

This is the only legitimate criticism. Will the technology hold up. But, this is an intermittent criticism, and one that is A.) Still unknown, maybe FB live streaming will hold up perfectly and is B.) part of the incremental, iterative process of technology innovation that has been spinning for a century. Maybe this live steam falls flat, maybe the next 10 do, but this WILL BE how we consume content live or not in teh forseeable future. The more I think about it the more I am embarassed that the Moutain West is the conference that is experimenting with the cutting edge of live event streaming, and not the conference that fully owns it's own boradcast rights (so selling a few games worth to Facebook shoudl be no problem), and has it's headquarters (at the low low price of, like, a billion dollars a day) in downtown San Fran so that it can "Be on the cutting edge of broadcast technology"

Actually watching, not a chance in hell. Keep spinning it y'all. While a game like the 2001 fiesta bowl will probably have had more viewers just because of the build up, advertising for, and the lack of competing games, etc. I'll bet this game will have more total viewers than any other non-conference, non-bowl game in OSU history. Just for S&G purposes.... how would one go about looking up how many viewers saw the OSU vs Southern Utah game last year? Or the OSU vs CSU game the year before that?
