Ooooh, we haven't had a good "Nike is conspiring to keep us irrelevant" thread in a while......... Bonus points if we can somehow tie that into ESPN hates us, refs cheat & Oregonian sabotage. And... don't forget specifics... has to be a Meggs and Street connection, along with the NCAA section committees and clearing house timelines...

I like it. Some other numbers: OSU was 12-13 in the first two seasons of the new unis, but I believe they opted not to mix and match colors (orange helmets w/ black jerseys, white pants with orange tops, etc.) with those new unis until 2015. Since then, the team is 7-29. Oregon State has not won a game outside of the 97331 zip code since October 4th, 2014....perhaps we are agoraphobic? Oregon State has not won a game since PJ Fleck came to town. Clearly he cursed us. Name the only Oregon State coach with a winning record in Eugene since 1971. It's Jerry Pettibone. Eugene and Laramie, Wyoming are the only cities he had a winning record in while coach of the Beavs. Oregon State mixed and matched in the 2013 Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl (black helmets/black jerseys/white pants); the 2014 opener against Portland State (white/orange/white), USKnee (black/white/black), 2014 Utah (orange/orange/black), 2014 Stanford (black/white/white), 2014 Washington State (black/black/white), and 2014 Civil War (orange/white/orange); all of the games in 2015 except San Jose State, Stanford, Washington, and Oregon; all of the games in 2016 except Idaho State and California (both wins); and all of the games in 2017 other than Colorado State, Portland State, and Oregon. Horrific injuries? Isaac Seumalo missed all of 2014, because he injured his foot in the 2013 Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl. Jalen Grimble and Noke Tago were both injured in USKnee. Tago missed the rest of the 2014 season and most of the 2015 season, as a result of Max Tuerk's cut block on Tago. Kellen Clute and Richard Mullaney were both injured in the 2014 Utah game and lost for the season. Mullaney transfered after CGA ran off LDR. Storm Woods was also knocked out for more than two weeks. All-in-all, since the re-brand, when Oregon State mixes and matches, the Beavers are 5-31 (.139). When Oregon State wears all of the same colors, the Beavers are 12-13 (.480).

Hmmm....are you suggesting a re-re-brand? Bring back the 9-win bras! (yes, that desperate)

I wanted to expand on this. Five wins since 2013, when Oregon State mixes and matches. Two were against FCS teams: 2014 Portland State and 2015 Weber State. 3-31 (.088) against FBS teams. The three FBS wins were the 2013 Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl (which featured the Seumalo injury) and the 2016 wins against Arizona and Oregon--McMaryion's last two in an Oregon State uniform. (Oregon State wore battleship gray/black/black at the 2016 Civil War, which is pretty close to all one color, but I am counting it for completeness.)

Yeah but we just won a National championship in baseball. Doesn’t really matter. Have the baseball Beavers ever used that insignia (the beaver head that reminds me of a bicycle helmet) on any of their equipment or unis? I can't remember any. Bring back the bra jerseys then for god sakes. I know I need a lift and separation.

I love a high quality, yet senseless conversation as much as the next guy... but I believe bringing back Linebacker U and having a top 3 Pac-12 QB on the roster would pay way bigger dividends then dusting off the fighting sports bra unis.
