Pick the Round Pick the Team Closest guess by draft slots wins nothing 5th Round: Colts 160 5th Round: Raiders 159 Raiders just beat out the Colts for Luton. It will be great to see Luton playing in black. Where Luton lands depends a lot on where Eason, Herbert, and Hurts go. I could see there being a run on QBs and Luton winding up even higher. We will see.

I'm still thinking New England. Earlier I had said in the last two rounds, could be earlier if a bunch of QBs get taken. Call it 4th to 5th rounds. a couple of things going for him with the Patriots... 1) With a bum ankle Luton might be almost as slow as Brady was. 2) Luton actually had quite good situational stats as far as longer passes go compared to most QBs.

Tua still needs a lot of work to be an NFL QB, and I don't think that there is a ton of upside, because he is frame-limited. And he's injury-prone. Russell Wilson had a similar frame, but Wilson stayed healthy in college.

I am curious who gets Eason, Fromm, and Hurts. There is some chatter that the Pats are targeting Hurts in the third round. The Bengals, Chargers, Dolphins, and Packers all took quarterbacks in the first round. Of the other 28 NFL teams, the conventional wisdom is that the Pats are in the most need of a QB with the Jags and Colts in second and third. The question with the Jags and Pats is whether they are going to address QB in the draft or in free agency. With Newton and Winston both floating out there, I do not know how serious either is at wasting a draft pick on a second-tier QB. The Colts, Falcons, Raiders, Saints, and Steelers are all teams that I could see drafting a developmental QB on Day 2 or Day 3.

Russell Wilson had a similar frame, but Wilson stayed healthy in college. The other thing is that Wilson was taken pick 75. If you want to take him pick 70, I think that that is a heck of a pick. They could have picked up Becton, Wills, or Wirfs there, who are all better than Jackson, who is more of a project. And you could have come back at pick 18 and pick up a QB. Tua might not be there, but you would have had a better tackle to protect him.
