I see Sam Vidlac from Hidden Valley High School has received a scholarship offer from OSU. I know Sam personally as well as his dad. His dad is a football coach and the head baseball coach. Very good family, Christian people who are moral and ethical. This is a good get from a local Oregon perspective. Do not know how good the opponents were but HVHS is a 4A school. That's the same classification for Derrick Anderson. Very athletic kid who plays baseball as well as football. He threw something like 44 TD's and 4 interceptions. He's 6' 2" and would be a good get. He currently is committed to Montana. He said this offer kind of resets the bar and he will be talking with his parents.

Glad he didn't have a chance to blow up at Summer camps for the sake of osu. He is a talented kid who would have/will likely get other Power 5 offers...I love getting our quarterback,so we can build around him. Hoping Collins is soon...

What are the chances he gets a better offer and de-commits from the Beavs? 4:1. Hidden Valley is a 4A school playing 3A football so he may be a bit under-exposed and more difficult to evaluate based on competition which should help him stick.

Sam loves the idea that he can be close to home so his family can see him play and still be a part of his life. He is very smart and like most teenagers is looking forward to building his future. But he has a great family surrounding him, not just mom and dad but cousins and uncles and aunts as well as grand parents. They are deeply religious and family is very important to all of them. The fact that OSU is a power five school and 3 hours from home bodes well for OSU. I think that right now Sam has no reason to even look elsewhere. I promise you one thing, he is thrilled to be offered by the beavers and his feelings toward the coaching staff are top rate.
