Like Sage, we won't be present. Very healthy, but in the older group. Our attendance has dwindled for a few years anyway. Now baseball will be the tough decision. I hope those who want to attend can attend. I am not anti-church or anti-religion, but the Union County item shows serious irresponsibility. It also casts a huge shadow over the possibility of large gatherings such as football games. I am going to be honest, it outright pisses me off. Not from an anti-church bias or anything, but from the perspective of this has been hard on everyone. This has hurt everyone, but still MOST people are following the rules. Most people are in this together. Most people have taken it on the chin, lost jobs, lost money, lost experience and all that... But have rolled with the punches, followed the rules (mostly) and have been working together to get through this. it is evident in the large picture when you compare Oregon's numbers to national numbers, particularly from a per capita and positive percentage perspective. Then you have a group just giving all of that the finger. I just find it all really disrespectful. It doesn't really matter if it doesn't amount to large hospital numbers or deaths or anything like that (so far, 4 hospitalizations related to this... that is a low number) It is what the action represented and the spit in the face of all of us that are suffering and sacrificing to get through it. 2 weeks ago I had someone tell me it's all fake based on her premise that she personally doesn't know anyone who tested positive. Now I think I can appreciate what it's probably like to deal with a flat-earther.

Well, 1000's of protesters in the Portland streets every night for three weeks straight seems irresponsible to me but what ya gonna do?

I hope everyone shows up, even if we can’t go into the stadium. We could say we’re protesting and enjoy the tailgate. Hell, let’s create our own autonomous zone in the Reser parking lot. I’ll take my chances. I will be there 100% if allowed to be by OSU.

And I know the earth is not flat! What now?

Well, 1000's of protesters in the Portland streets every night for three weeks straight seems irresponsible to me but what ya gonna do? They at least wore masks and were outside. like not even being glib with that. I hear your argument, and a lot of me agrees. But there really is a huge point of being safe as you can be among the protesters. you hardly see any pictures of them not wearing masks. In many, many cases, the protests are spread out fairly far apart. I know many people that were at the capitol protests, everybody was keeping apart from one another, people were not packing in, shoulder to shoulder. In addition, the protests are 1,000's of individuals coming together whereas the church is an organization with formal private property that has the capacity to control the crowd, enact measures, and use common sense. and yes that matters. my point is simply about common sense. This church used none that, and the numbers do not lie. in two days union county has more new cases than a full week of Multco... at less than a 10th of the population and a 10th of the tests performed.

I'm planning on attending the games. Got my season tickets and my tailgate spot. Looking forward to enjoying the season.

I'll be there - life's full of risks and I still plan to live it. I was hoping to go to Stillwater - but I'm assuming now that visitor seating will be nonexistant.

Glad I have you in my corner on team Earth Is Round.

Ya, the situation at the church doesn't look good. I also agree, that being outside should help reduce the chance of the virus spreading... and time is on our side here as we still have more than 2 full months to see how re-opening goes with the infection rate. But as far as the protests, I have seen many pictures where there is simply not social distancing. Most are wearing masks, not all but do we know how effective those actually are? I get it... you won't put your fingers into your mouth and if you cough or sneeze is is contained.. but if there is shouting or singing does the mask really help is my question. And before you go there... yes the Earth is ROUND! I'm hearing rumors about shutting down tailgating and limiting total attendance so people can spread out. Concessions seems like another item to be considered on the virus prevention front. Odd times I tell ya... who thought 2020 would be so eventful? Probably the flat earthers knew it was coming

Exactly this. Those who go without masks or continue as if nothing has happened do so because they think they know something the experts don’t. They wear their disrespect and ignorance on their faces like a big F You. They call others “sheep” and laugh at us for following the recommendation of professionals in order to limit the effects of the virus. Their behavior keeps this whole thing going longer and longer. Drains resources. And puts others in jeopardy.

You beat me to it, I've seen them shouting, screaming, literally spitting at cops, etc., no one can tell me those masks, and many are just scarfs, are doing much good. Although, they work perfectly for those idiots that are breaking windows, lighting fires (over 100 now in PDX) and looting and generally causing chaos. Convenience of the circumstance...

I told him we did and we had to take precautions, period. Let's just say I gave the areas he came into contact with a good sanitizing. A person's "facts" don't necessarily mean they are truths.

College football may follow the NFL's lead regarding having fans in attendance with all the pre-season games scheduled in August. And the news isn't looking good for having fans at the Hall of Fame Game on Aug. 6 if it does get played.

From Marion County where a lot of people relative to the rest of the state have come down with it, and you aren't going to catch me on the Lincoln City waterfront anytime soon.
