I was going to say, if you compare BS' 01-03 stats to SC's 11-13 stats, SC wins in every category, except sacks: UT AT Tot TFL-Yds Sacks-Yds FF FR PD BS 87 29 116 41-219 25.5-187 4 0 4SC 100 65 165 51-224 22.5-130 10 4 9
I mean, highlights #6 and #9 for October 2013:
Swancutt had 11.5 sacks 3 straight seasons or are you removing Swancutt's senior year to try to help your argument? I only remember that because it was an odd factoid. Or is this common core math? I totally forgot about Crichton being the forced fumble machine. I was comparing the two for their Freshman-Junior years, because Crichton did not have a senior season. I figured that that was apples to apples. Watch the film. When Crichton got single-teamed, he was a man among boys.

I mean you are omitting a Pac-10 DPOY / Lineman of the Year season to argue someone else is better.. but that's alright. It's all personal preference and "your all time best Beav by position and favorite". So I'll respectfully agree to disagree. We better end this before Scuba111 chimes in.

You mention Aaron Thomas, but Robb was very good also. He had a 10-year NFL career. Another name is Dennis Boyd. He played DE from 73-76 and then was an NFL O-lineman for six years. Finally another name that has not been mentioned is Dwayne Owens. He may qualify as a special teams player. I think he had trouble being eligible and I also think he was OJ's cousin. He had incredible talent but you could see he hated playing on teams that would maybe win two games. Boyd was a 6'7" quarterback at AA Douglas High School in Winston. That high school has produced Boyd, Troy Polamalo, and Josh Bidwell. I gotta put Robb on my list! Lavance Northington too. I only went to OSU for 2 years and those were some real lean years.

You know, some of us span decades, many are fairly new, and most are in between. We all have our favorites and our memories. For example, in the Fiesta Bowl, we had CJ and Housh, both who excelled and had good NFL careers. Yet, I go with Hass and Cooks. Go freaking figure. Just be nice to fellow Beavers when you make your choice.

I golfed with Lavance a few times in maybe '89 to '92. He was skinny from the waist down but I'm guessing he could push 300 on the bench. And unfortunately he was limping horribly by the end of 18. If he hadn't destroyed his knees he would have spent a few years on an NFL roster.
