Moscow is close to Pullman. Doesn't make it Washington.
Tough to have an I-5 battle when one of the colleges is not located in a city on I-5.

Sure it does. Corvallis is not located on I-5. Parker Stadium became Reser Stadium. Coleman Field was changed to Goss Stadium (only Mike Parker still calls it Coleman Field at Goss Stadium; everyone else just calls it Goss). Apperson Hall became Kearney Hall. Education Hall became Fuhrman Hall. Kerr Library became the Valley Library. Marysville became Corvallis. Things change. This too shall pass. It's close enough. Jeez. OK, then you good with the Hwy 101 battle?

Was the state of Oregon "Civil War" named after the United States Civil War, or not? Civil War is defined as "a war between citizens of the same country." There have been numerous other internal conflicts in other countries around the globe that are referred to as a "Civil War", e.g. Spain, Denmark, etc. I think the current OSU-uo Civil War is called such not as a remembrance of the US Civil War, but because it is a conflict between peoples of the same "country." It does not now have, nor ever had any connection to slavery, pro or con. I've always looked at it like this, I never really associated it to THE civil war, just you know, just an interstate, interwhatever battle. I didnt even really associate Oregon State with the northern portion of Oregon and Eugene with southern portion, they are 40 miles apart in the middle of the state. Whatever, I'm too old to care about s%#t like this, I just like when the Beavs best the Ducks in anything. Ill say this, if it offends people, particularly kids that have played at the schools or currently do, then absolutely, change the name. It's their game, we should respect their opinion and honor their wishes. We're just fans. They are the ones putting out the sweat and blood for us to enjoy it.

Times change. There will still be a rivalry game. I don’t care what it’s called as long as we kick the ducks ass. Play on.
