Wiese looked decent today. 2-3 from the floor, 5 points 1 reb, 18 minutes. LA ran away in the 2nd half, most of 4th quarter was garbage time. No Gulich at all, I'm guessing she's injured? Last year they had a deep front court rotation, now it's very thin. Anigwe played 14 minutes...that's it. Lots of small ball when Nneka and Parker weren't both on the floor together.

NY just isn't very good, they're gonna get their tail kicked a lot this season.
The Mystics missing several stars are absolutely destroying Indiana.
All 3 games turned totally noncompetitive at some point. Probably not what the league was hoping for on the first day of action.
edit--Taurasi was 1-7 behind the arc today, barely better than a certain rookie alluded to earlier

Article in today's GT indicated Gulich has been fighting an ankle injury.

I sort of suspected as much about Gulish because she wasn't spotted in any of the practice videos they have shown days prior to the opening. Didn't even see her on the sidelines.

The Sparks lost 78-96, but Syd put together a nice game: 8 points on 2-4 3FG and 2-2 FT. Also had the highest +\- at +5.

Rest of the team had 37 points total. New York still lost.

Just to clear up any miss-understandings. In this post I was referring to not seeing Gulish on the sidelines during practice. They showed various clips showing not only the players on the court but also those on the sidelines. She was obviously on the sidelines during the actual games. I also thought Wiese did an nice job in both games. I can not say that for most of the rest of the team. They sucked pretty badly.

She torched the US National Team, this idea that she couldn't cut it in the WNBA was pretty strange (not just the comment in this thread, I've seen it on other message boards).

No matter anybody's personal feelings about her, she's going to be the Sue Bird or Diana Taurasi of her generation, except they didn't have Uncle Phil pushing them like he's going to be pushing her. It's going to be a very good thing for women's basketball. (Not gonna suck for Sabrina either.)
