Pump the Brakes? Crazy. Fire Him and hold those that knew accountable. This is not political. It is a shame that these kids were put through this. I saw Lavonda Wagners practices and was appalled. She did nothing like this guy is accused of doing. The one thing that was the same is negative culture and poor results. Now we know why we are bad at volleyball. It can be fixed and no more bs. No, qbeaver is right. That article only gives one side of the story, and we live in an age where college students, faculty, and administration actually take 'microaggressions' seriously and something to be avoided at all costs. Not saying this is that, not saying it isn't; I am saying we don't have sufficient information to pass judgement. |

Yes - the shine/sheen on Barnes, Vydra and Ray might take a hit if this article is accurate as well. Very sad, but a reminder that no school, no staff is immune to this kind of thing, and checks and balances need to be in place, and even in the best of circumstances abuse of power and oppression of those susceptible to it happens. Sigh. Go Beavers! Todd Stansbury elevated Barnard to VB HC, not Barnes. And Barnard had been Liskevych's top assistant for 8 years prior to that. So his coaching style was no mystery to anyone. |

In today's society,it's so knee jerk in nature. Coach Bernard hasn't had his side of the story in print yet,and likely never will. Some are ready to convict him without hearing his side. We have had three athletes go on record with their experience at osu under coach Bernard.
I too have a daughter about the same age as these athletes,and of course I would want a coach punished if abuse took place on them. I'm not going to ruin a mans reputation and career without hearing his side. He deserves that at the very least...

This is not a popularity contest. I'm certain that the team members that support him are genuine and authentic. However, if he abused just one girl who is genuine and authentic, he should be out.

Punishing the girls by exceeding practice limits and such is so asinine. Reminds me of a certain Duck strength coach a couple years back.

His conference record the past 2 seasons is 2 - 18 and 3 - 17. Whether it is recruiting or coaching, something is not working.
