Every HC needs his own guys. Frankly, I would have liked to have seen Bailey get his shot. On the other hand, he could have been a Jimmy Anderson. Don't know unless you try, but trying can set you back.

Well I guess the training wheels are off. Based on the short 2020 season I'm not sure I like this. Bailey could have been a steadying influence. From National Championship coach to a schmuck in 2 years
*if rumor is true

Interesting as there is now quite a team available for another College. Hope that is not the case!

Great recruiter, great teacher, great assistant, but not a good fit as HC for an elite program.

Very unfair to compare him to JA who had Payton his first year and won a league title.

No. Not even close. No. Bailey is a very poor man's Casey. Bailey is a phenomenal recruiter and assistant coach, but he is not a top-end head coach. And he did not have a Bailey to take over his spot.

Plus, 2-3 of our other top pitchers got hurt. That 2019 team wasn’t going anywhere. Adley was all that team had. Casey would not have fared much better, if at all. I guess that makes Mitch a poor man’s Bailey since he went 5-9.

I think going 353-158 with a national title and 8 conference titles at George Fox might say something different Again... I had the pleasure to work with both Coach Casey & Bailey. There is a reason they were both successful in baseball as well as mentoring so many kids into leaders in our communities, work force & families 2 very quality coaches and men. I know Oregon State reaped the benefits of Coach Bailey on and off the field
