I think it is outrageous that neither the original nor this new schedule had us playing on Halloween. The Giant Pumpkin is turning over in his grave! Since 1936, Oregon State is 2-8 on Halloween. The two wins? 1964 and 2009. The Civil War was for the right to represent the conference in the Rose Bowl both years. Oregon State won the first but lost the Civil War for the Roses in 2009.

The Rose Bowl representative in 1964 was chosen by a vote by the member schools that year. It was either OSU or socal and the vote went in the Beavers favor. The only Rose Bowl I ever attended.
