Scott Barnes was on this morning with Mike Parker and Jon Warren talking about osu and the Covid situation on the radio on 1240am. He was asked about a possible loan that all the Pac-12 schools could access of 996 million dollars(up to 83 million per school) at 3.7 percent interest over a 10 year period which would be a game changer for potential revenue shortfall if we don't play football. Didn't know this existed and am excited to hear about it. The loan was first discussed by John Wilner in the San Jose Mercury news this a.m. Maybe someone can link... osu gets 80% of its athletic budget from football revenue, and nationwide,it's about 70%.

This is a big deal.
I've been of the mindset that we would give the football season the ol "college try" because of the amount of money at stake. When I heard this the other day I thought... now the season is in jeopardy.
I sure hope they wait a little while longer so we can get a better handle on how MLB and the NBA do with controlling the infections among the athletes.
Go Beavs!

But they are traveling around and playing the game. I'm just hoping they don't shut down the season like right now.... just hoping is the phrase. But I'm thinking selfishly as a fan.... I thought the money would push the Universities to play. With a loan all lined up... and other conferences cancelling it doesn't look good for Fall sports in 2020.

California's (the state, not the school) protocol/policy statement today makes it even more likely the Pac-12 will play.

They will play, but no fan attendance.

MLS is looking to have fans in the stands for games in a couple of weeks. We'll see if that actually happens, but if it does...

MLS is looking to have fans in the stands for games in a couple of weeks. We'll see if that actually happens, but if it does... Yes, following the same rules that apply to other gatherings. Timbers will not have fans for the first 3 home games.
