The WBB Recruiting section of this board appears to have accurately reported the addition of 6'4" grad transfer Jovana Subasic from WSU to the Beavs roster for the upcoming season. Once confirmed by the program, Beaver Nation should give major props to the coaching staff for putting together a roster that looks very competitive and likely to keep the Beavs in the top half (or perhaps top third) of the conference, assuming that we get to see some sort of collegiate basketball season during '20-'21.
Subasic has the unusual skillset of a stretch 4 who can hit the open three when opposing bigs don't close out quickly enough. She should be able to provide quality backup minutes to Corosdale, Mack, and Jones at the 4 and 5 positions. Her presence will alleviate some of the loss of depth in the frontcourt from having Brown redshirt and Morris transfer to TCU for the upcoming season.
I really like the addition of Subasic. The OSU WBB roster now looks fairly complete with adequate depth at most positions.

The Beavs have taken solid steps to be competitive in 2020/2021 by bringing in 5 newcomers. Add Jelena M, and the Beavs have 6 additions who have not experienced Pac12 basketball. Despite all the newcomers it looks like the Beavs have built a strong team, and a talented and deep front court in particular. Adding Subasic to go along with Taylor, Taya, and Ellie gives the Beavs great depth and versitiity and experience. Subasic adds another 3pt shooter to the mix and the size up front is impressive. I don't know if adding Subasic tells us anything about the progress of Jelena. If Jelena is ready to add some minutes, that just makes the depth of the 'bigs' that much stronger.
I don't think we should take the fact that the Beavs are adding 5(6) newbies as anything to worry about. All of them will have their shot at playing important roles in 20/21, and a number of them are proven players. Subasic averaged over 20 minutes per game last season as a Pac12 player and has proven she belongs. This move to Oregon State may prove to be a big boost to her game. I won't be surprised to see her add substancially to her game in the Beavs environment. Ellie was the player of the year in the Patriot league, which some fans may play down, but they shouldn't.
The Beavs will need a couple of the other newcomes to set up in the guard and small forward position when they want to play small ball. Sasha, Savannah, and Faustino will all be given a shot to play big roles, and it's likely Sasha will play starter minutes. Faustino may end up with limited minutes, but may end up with one of the most important roles on the team playing as the ball handler when Aleah is not of the floor. It will be fun to see how this all falls into place, and what this team looks like when the season roles around. Stay tuned.
