Call cynical, but I think the big meeting was a CYA, we are so concerned, and wringing our hands meeting. They need the TV money.

Since there is a 83 million loan available for pac12 schools the pac12 will drop the season this week as will the big 10.

The nba and mlb are in bubbles and yet the virus spreads. Somebody tell me how a college player stays virus free on a campus? There are no bubbles for college athletes.

[b The MLB is not in a bubble My bad. But it kind of proves the point. The virus is spreading like wildfire in the mlb. Games canceled. Football is more contact, more virus spread. Can you imagine a lineman gets it and after practice your whole offensive line is in quarantine. Football at least college football ain't going to happen. Sad but true.

The fan in the stands has taken the back seat and is of little concern to the conference. TV controls the schedule. If you don't like Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night games, too bad. College sports are following the way of professional sports and it will be the death of them.

One thing the pandemic has shown is that I get along fine without viewing any pro sports, and I am to the point that potential college sports viewing has dropped well down my list.

I wonder what's going to replace football this year? Are people going to be hosting weekend parties in front of the big screen to watch "Man Vs Food" or "Love It or List It"? What's everyone going to do?

No, of course not. I was pointing out that your post was inaccurate. The NBA hasn't had problems. Plus, as someone else pointed out, the MLB doesn't play in a bubble. Hence the 0-2.

This was pretty easy to see coming, unfortunately. No difference than the schools that opened up and one week later shut down. There would be outbreaks that spread through teams and staff and support staff, then cancellations and feeble attempts at rescheduling, and in the end little cost benefit to playing the season.
Sucks but I think most of us anticipated this.
Go Beavs!

Good thing the general student population does not have to worry. What about them?
