Obviously this is a unique situation but I'm curious how some things are going to play out. I'm assuming that players who did not get a senior season will be afforded another year of eligibility and 99% are not going to opt for the NFL draft.
What does this do for the 85 schollie limit? Does everyone get to carry 120 kids max on scholarship for a year to account for the odd case where you have a full 25 kids on the squad who would have graduated, unusual but possible. What about the 25 scholarship limit per year? Do schools get to expand their travel squad for a season so those seniors can get a chance to get on the field?
How is this all going to play out?

I would think it'll reflect what has happened with college baseball. Expect every team to get deeper and talented. May we even see a team this season get completely deep and talented, it would rival the 2001 Miami Hurricanes? Also, expect lots and lots of transfers trickling down. From Power 5, to Group of 5, to FCS, to D-II, to D-III, to NAIA, to Junior College.

I do think we play in the spring. February or March, condensed season, limited bowls (good time to test drive a playoff yo!) 2. Draft impacts will be significant. No way they can draft in April when a football season is going to go to May at least. 3. If the season is full on cancelled, players leave in droves, even if this year doesn't count. Goodbye Hamilcar. He is playing to be a first rounder this year, but last year was good enough to guarantee him first 3 rounds with a good combine showing... 4. speaking of combine. like, when man? 5. what about high school recruiting. Many high school season are cancelled and delayed. We have to shift it all over to the summer, OR be actively recruiting and signing during a season. It all does just suck. It also should put a punctuation mark on the seriousness of COVID. you don't f%#* this much stuff up for the funsies of it all.

Other things...what if the transfer portal fills up with P-12 and OS athletes that want to test the waters elsewhere? Do all of our coaches have to go into a 're recruiting' mode of athletes already on the roster?

If the ACC and SEC decide to give it a go, we might see a mini-exodus of Big Ten and Pac-12 players to the SE. That would really suck. The rich get richer.

I wouldn’t think many would transfer, unless they are allowed immediate eligibility at the schools who decide to play. Not to mention that they would have only 30 days to learn the new schemes and try to move up the depth chart at the ACC or SEC schools.

There are lots of guys that can’t afford to sit there chance at getting noticed out, who aren’t already on NFL scouts radar. I really think this is going to sink the Pac 12 as a power conference. At best it puts us at very bottom of the P5 because this will have years of financial and competitive repercussions. Outside a couple schools - like USC - we don’t have brands like Ohio St, Michigan that can weather a year without playing. I also think more players will end up becoming infected with a canceled season then would have if the season was played out with the conference only schedule. It will be interesting to compare leagues that play and those that don’t after the fact.

Yeah, I was literally just reading an article about Georgia and Florida setting new daily records. Sounds like a great time to start up with college football! I read that South Carolina is still planning on hosting fans, lol. Good thing for them this is all just a liberal hoax, eh?

Obviously science isn't highly thought of in the south. Want to post that Bernie Sanders in one more thread?
