What a great interview. It never ceases to amaze me how well spoken the wbb players are. Makes me proud to be a fan.

Great interview. Thanks for sharing. TJ has a great attitude. If TJ stays healthy, this kid has a bright future.

Taylor, in this interview, said she was really impressed with newcomer Elle Mack......So, she and Rueck are on the same page in their assessment of her impact on the team... I hope they're both right. The Beavs, with only two starters returning, absolutely need a top quality talent infusion to remain a top-tier team.... It would be great if Mack is that player.
Don't want to always be repeating myself, but it looks to me like a LOT of our success this season is going to ride on how impressive the play of Mack and Mitrovic turns out.. I can't see this team being a top 3 or 4 team in the Pac without big performances from these two.
Shifting gears: AA not being cleared to play, according to Eggers: I wonder if coach will keep her on the squad as a practice player, honorary cheer leader, or whatever. My personal belief for quite a while has been that Coach knows she is not going to get game time, but he allows her to be team member because she is helpful to the team, and the team is helpful to her....I'm not trying to sell this idea, but it makes sense to me, and it has for some time now. GO BEAVS!!

Asking....Seems to punish the team to do the right thing...

GO BEAVS!! 411500, and don't forget the comments regarding Ellie from coach Jonas, "warrior", "leadership", "tremendous skill set", "good shooter" and "understands the game". My comments----Ellie has a well rounded game. She's a good rebounder, good passer, good shooter and a smart player. Ellie will definitely be a key for this year. I'm not sure Mitroivic will be, but it would be great if she is. With Jovana on board the Beavs have a lot of talented height. Taya will hopefully return better than ever. A ball handling guard to help Aleah and spell her as needed may be the key to this being a great team or just a good team.

I haven't seen Elle touch a basketball, but I believe you have to be something special in order to get named POTY. And not every Pac-12 player starts out in the Pac-12, or projects to be a Pac-12 player........now the reverse is also true - not every POTY turns into Damon Lillard (POTY in a mid-major conference), and some folks who never play in the Pac-12 don't do so for good reason. Another discriminant is coaching staff evaluation, but long story short, I have high hopes for Elle Mack being a force - she was All League more than once, so not a "flash in the pan", and All-Academic all four years, so shouldn't have trouble comprehending the system. 1000+ career points and 500+ rebounds means she brought it all 3 seasons (didn't play as a frosh due to injury). Sounds special. I think Jovana redshirting might have been a really good thing - just like Jo Grymek improved a lot in terms of knowing the system, I think we get more of the Jovana upside and less of the transition downside. Just those two plus the returners gives me great hope, and I think the freshmen are going to help as well. Hopefully one of the other transfers will surprise, and we will have a great season. Actually, at this point any sort of season sounds like a great season to me..... Go Beavers!

I'm expecting Ellie to be a 10/6 3rd option on offense, and be a good team defender. I would not be confident if she needed to come in and ba #1 at the Pac-12 level, but my opinion is that she will be a strong 3rd option. She's also been a leader, and she's a senior, so assuming the team dynamics work out, she could fill a leadership void... based on what Taylor said, sounds like that will happen.
Mitrovic seems like she can be a 9/4 player, but only 30-40% of the games where matchups work for her to get minutes. I can't see her taking minutes from Jones, and I don't think matchups won't allow for those two to see the floor together very regularly.
AA - there's probably a Dr. out there who would clear her, but not associated with OSU with our basketball history. Glad to have her associated with the team regardless.

Not necessarily. I'm quite sure NCAA forbids competitive basketball for athletes with confirmed Marfan's. I'm not saying AA has confirmed Marfan's. I'm saying if she does there is not a doctor out there who could clear her. GO BEAVS!!

Taylor can be prone to foul trouble. Hopefully, a lot of that was a freshman being thrown into competition way above previous experience, and will be lessened this year. Still, Jelena could see more minutes than you might expect (or wish for) when Taylor picks up 2 quick ones.
