We played one great game at USC...and they are down right now. Under Smith we have progressed from terrible to bad to where we are now: mediocre. I will be surprised if we don't get 6 wins. However, anything over 7 will also be a surprise and a huge overachievement. Are we making progress? Yes. Now about 3rd and long...

I was feeling negative and NOT enjoying the "flow" of the game, at all, SO....... I took my youngest (five year old) grandson on a hike along the Santiam River, here in Lebanon. We left the house just before the start of the 3rd. I'm sad they lost, and would have been thrilled had they won, but..... the older I get (only 63 years young), the less time I have for feeling "angst"....for lack of a better word...... about a game. A beautiful, cool, fall day. My grandson will remember a great hike, and NOT a grouchy papa watching a football game.

WSU was better than us today, period. We still have along way to go. And I'm not panicking, but Nolan may not be the answer. He makes a great throw and then he telegraphs one, or throws behind a guy causing an int or incompletion......he threw A LOT of passes behind guys today. He seemed extremely rattled at the end. I hope he can progress, but two weeks on a row now he looks scared.....de Laura did not.

Tough game to lose, but a game to learn from. The way Utah is playing tonight, I’m worried about that game….Which is how it should be. Don’t take anything for granted. I did.

Fun game to watch ( second half anyway ). Not gonna win all the games we expect to win , just like we won't lose every game we supposed to lose . This is a great reminder for the rest of the year - kids did all the could to play catch up - just not in the cards today. Go Beavers - younaren't done yet !

Extremely rattled at the end, not in my opinion. Receivers gotta get open!!

Stat line for Nolan...11 for 25 for 158 yds and two picks....ain't gonna get it done....and both picks were bad....the telegraph that got jumped and the pass he threw behind his receiver which caused a tip drill. I'm not saying Nolan wont get better....he most definitely could. But that's two very poor outings in a row And look, hand it wsu's D they made plays when they needed to.

Threw behind his receiver? The ball hit him right in the hands in front of him. The other pick was a fantastic play by the DB. He wasn’t good, but neither of those picks were terrible throws.

And Canzano almost takes joy in the whole thing. the dude is weird. And I mean weird how one week he builds the team up and then go to his bad habits driving the school bus running over them.
This comment is particular rank coming from Canzano:
"The whole act looked suspiciously like the dead and buried 2019 and 2020 versions of Smith’s program. Those teams routinely went on the road and proved they were good enough to stay in games, but not regularly win them. Just like old times."

Go back and watch it....it wasn't horribly behind him, but it was high, and on his back shoulder. That ball needs to be in front of him, and lower The DB contact resulted in a tipped ball....should he have caught it? Yea, maybe, but a better placed ball he likely does.

You throw that ball high where your taller receiver can catch it. That pass was right on the money
