I dunno. I have so many snap judgements and questions swimming around in my head that could lead to a tirade on here. Instead I’ll take the next 48 hours to cool off, drink a bit and let autumn roll on. What I will be thinking about or asking rhetorically is do we have an incredible coach in the making or someone that may just be best being a great assistant? Will we ever have the talent or depth to let games like this prevent this program to take the next steps it so desperately needs and wants to take? Off to bed with a hangover. But still a Beaver fan always!

Fair enough....
Today was disappointing obviously. But I'm keeping things in perspective by.......remembering the hell we went thru with he who shall not be named. We are not where we want to be YET.....but we are a pretty good ball club with a few holes. Today, our in-game adjustments didn't work out.....or lack of adjustments maybe? It felt like we got outcoached. That usually doesn't happen since 9er has taken over, imo. And we had a few bad turnovers that likely cost us the game. Also, we HAVE to get some dudes on the D line.....looking at the future recruits, and portal guys things are looking up on that front.

The future is bright! We’re lucky to have 9’er. they just lost their first pac-12 game. They’re 4-2 and the season isn’t over. They’ve been in every game. They have a bi week to prep and beat Utah!

But still a Beaver fan always! Sound advice. In the aftermath of a loss like this I’m confronted with the reality that while I’m an avid fan I just don’t take these losses as personally as most of the other posters. So while I’m tempted to tell folks to step off the ledge and chill TF out, I know that’s wrong and that my way of being a fan is just my way. So after a tough loss, especially in this case - before a bye week, I’ll make myself scarce. Because I’m not that big on venting, recriminations and assigning blame. And to be quite honest just not that interested in hearing other people work through their issues. As we get closer to the Utah game I’ll jump back into the conversation. Hopefully with something interesting and/or humorous to offer. Go Beavs Ftd

Agree with the rule for drawing any major conclusions. Do feel like it's OK to be disappointed (and even hugely disappointed). This team had the opportunity to be in a great position by just taking care of business and a loss to a WSU team that hasn't shown much this year and with massive behind-the-scenes issues makes that opportunity infinitely harder to seize.
The only major conclusion I'll put out there is maybe we can negotiate the WSU home games to be anywhere but Pullman! We'll pay the freight but that place does not have good juju for the Beavs.

Get up, Shut up, rub some dirt on it and get back in there. Looking back doesn't do anything except keep you from moving forward.

I guess I have to lay this one on the coaches..........the OC especially. He seems to step over dollars looking for dimes with his play calling. Averaging 7 yds. per run.......1st down on the 14..........Lets throw the ball? ?? You've got to be kidding me. Go Beavs!!

Not quite 24 hours later, I can see that the Beavers still have a long way to go. Plus, judging the Beaver team a capable contender after defeating USC seems to have been premature. USC looks pretty hapless and inept. We are improving from last year, which was a marked improvement over the year before. I still think we don’t have the players to run the defensive scheme that Tibesar wants to run…probably few teams do. I enjoyed the week of hype and dreaming of a cakewalk through Wazzu and the other opponents to march into the Pac 12 championship game. That was a fun week! But the hangover sucked! Good week for a bye!

Good week for a bye! Like the perspective! We are all so hungry for consistent success. So much so we became a bit myopic with a quick stretch and f success against overrated competition. Totally understandable for us in this fanbase and hard to be patient. The next question is can this program get the talent needed to Tibesar doesn’t have the appearance of not being adaptable? Can we get QB’s talent that doesn’t go mental like Nolan has the last two games. Need QBs with better mental fortitude.

I’m sure someone else has pointed this out - but- had I been told prior to the season we would be 4-2, with wins over SC and UW - and sitting in first in the P12 North…….I’d have called them a crackpot.
Room for improvement? Question marks about several aspects of the team? Absolutely.
The Beavs are a few poor play calls, poorly executed plays, or even unlucky bounces, away from being 5-1.
For three years under GA the team was putrid and full of quit.
Tough loss yesterday, but back away from the ledge, CJS has the team heading in the right direction.

Where they are now has overall exceeded expectations. They are also on the bubble to lose a lot of games ahead if the program doesn’t fix some things quickly. Defense is exposed and the QB has confidence issues.

Defense is exposed and the QB has confidence issues. It’s college football. Last year, we were in just about every game we played until the final seconds ticked away. This year, we won one of those (UW) and we lost one (WSU). Honestly, I don’t think the problem is our QB because there have been a tremendous number of drops. If we end the season taking half of the close games, it’s still better than we’ve seen from a Beaver team in a long time and it shows the rebuild is making strides. This will make it easier to get better recruits and next year we should keep improving. The bye week will give the team a nice breather. Fans, too. Let’s take Utah and move from there.
