Hamilcar Rashed, Jr., is still on the practice squad. Nahshon Wright is a healthy scratch, which sucks. No Beavers playing tonight. I don't care much about either team. Hopefully, the winner takes down the Niners on Sunday.

Go Cowboys! A Niners' loss all-but-clinches that a Beaver will be on a Super Bowl roster for a 10th consecutive year.

So where does our "alums appearing in 9 consecutive Super Bowls" stand on the current list? Best in the Pac-12. Better than Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Ohio State to name a few. Georgia and LSU's streak of 21 consecutive leads all teams. Georgia currently has alums on 23 of the 32 teams. LSU currently has alums on 27 of the 32 teams. Oregon State has alums on 16 of the 32 teams. And 12 of the 24 teams still alive for the postseason. Three of those teams are in the AFC: Bills (Jordan Poyer), Jets (Mike Remmers), and Raiders (Kyle Peko). The Bills are already in. Both the Jets (some) and Raiders (more) need help to snag the final wildcard spot in the AFC. Oregon State is doing much better in the NFC with 9 of 12 teams. Only the 49ers, Commanders, and Packers do not have a Beaver. It is still possible for six of seven of the NFC playoff teams to have Beavers on the roster. For those wondering about Georgia and LSU, Georgia basically clinched a 22nd consecutive Super Bowl after the Jets were eliminated from the playoffs. And LSU basically clinched a 22nd consecutive season after the Steelers were eliminated from the playoffs.

Plus, he’s one of the nicest people that you will ever meet. Still comes back to CV and visits with the students. Cowboys suck ass….

Plus, he’s one of the nicest people that you will ever meet. Still comes back to CV and visits with the students. Cowboys suck ass…. I like the Cowboys, but I thought that this was humorous. It is hard to believe that it has been more than 27 years, since the Cowboys played in an NFC Championship Game. The Browns were in the process of becoming the Ravens and the Oilers were still in Houston. The other five teams besides the Cowboys are: 1. Houston Oilers/Texans 1980 2. Cleveland Browns 1990 3. Detroit Lions 1992 4. Washington Redskins/Commanders 1992 5. Miami Dolphins 1993
In the 16 years from 2004-2019, Indianapolis, New England, and/or Pittsburgh met in the AFC Championship Game. In five seasons, the game featured two of the three teams. The Broncos and Ravens each played the Pats twice and the Steelers once. The Jets lost to the Colts and Steelers in consecutive years. The Chargers and Jags each lost to the Pats. The only other team not mentioned is the Chiefs, which has now gone to five consecutive AFC Championship Games, basically taking over where the Pats left off.
In contrast to the top-heavy AFC, 13 of the 16 NFC teams have played in an NFC Championship game in the past 13 seasons with nine different teams winning. (11 of the 16 AFC teams played in the AFC Championship Game with six different teams winning.) In the past 15 seasons, 11 different NFC teams have won. (7 different teams in the AFC.) And in the past 17 season, 12 different teams have won (the Bears with the longest Super Bowl drought of the 12 at 16 years). (7 different teams in the AFC.) The only team that has played in an NFC Championship Game in that time period are the snake-bit Vikings. The Vikings are 0-2 in the past 15 years and have lost six straight.
The Pats played in eight straight from 2012-2019 and 13 of 18 AFC Championships from 2002-2019 (only missing in 2003, 2006, and 2009-2011). The current period is the longest period without a Pats AFC Championship Game, since the Pats missed the 1998-2001 AFC Championship Games. It is the longest stretch without an AFC Championship Game under one coach since 1987-1990.
It's been more than six years since the last time the Steelers played in an AFC Championship Game. That is the longest Steelers' drought since the decade between the 1985 and 1995 AFC Championship Games.
It's been more than eight years since the last time that the Colts played in an AFC Championship Game. That is the longest drought since the drought between the Colts' 1972 and 1996 appearances.
The Giants have not played in an NFC Championship Game in more than 11 years. That is the longest gap since between the Giants' 1963 NFL Championship loss (pre-Super Bowl) and the 1987 NFC Championship.
The Chargers' AFC/AFL Championship drought is their longest in the team's history.

Draft day rooting interests:
The Broncos have the 49ers' First Round pick and should be rooting for Eagles. The Dolphins received the 49ers' pick in the Trey Lance trade. The Broncos received the pick in the Bradley Chubb trade.
The Panthers have the 49ers' Second, Third, and Fourth Round picks and should be rooting for the Eagles. The Panthers received the three 49ers' picks in the Christian McCaffrey trade.
The Bears have the Eagles' Fourth Round pick and should be rooting for the 49ers. The Bears received the Eagles' pick in the Robert Quinn trade.
The Saints have the Eagles' Fifth Round pick and should be rooting for the 49ers. The Saints received the Eagles' pick in the C.J. Gardner-Johnson trade.
The Giants have the Chiefs' Sixth Round pick and should be rooting for the Bengals. The Giants received the Chiefs' pick in the Kadarius Toney trade.
The Jags have the Eagles' Sixth Round pick and should be rooting for the 49ers. The Jags received the Eagles' pick in the Josiah Scott trade.
The Texans have the 49ers' Sixth Round pick and should be rooting for the Eagles. The Texans received the 49ers' pick in the Charles Omenihu trade, who is in the news right now.

How many Oilers fans are diehard Titans fans now? I personally know none. On the other hand, how many Texans fans used to be Oilers fans? I personally know several. Plus, you can look online. Journalists write articles about all-time Houston teams, not Oilers/Titans teams. Teams change all the time, but the fanbases are much more static.

Well, I've never heard of the Ravens and Colts mentioned in the same breath because they played in the same City. I've NEVER heard anyone lump the Texans and Oilers together. Every team that re-locates to another city always keeps their franchise records - with the lone exception of the Browns leaving their historical records and mascot behind for the "new" Browns when they became the Ravens. Otherwise, I would have given you a hard time for the Browns reference as well. The Texans franchise hasn't been to the Championship game in their history. That's a legitimate statement, but you can't call them the Houston Texans/Oilers and lump that 1980 AFCCG in with them.

There was a Times article about the Colts fans that are now Ravens fans in 2013, the last time that the Ravens were in the Super Bowl. We are now almost a decade removed from that at this point. The Baltimore Colts are a weird situation. The team moved overnight to Indianapolis in 1984. 10 years later Baltimore got a CFL team and named them the Colts and adopted blue and white as colors before a loveless NFL received an injunction, which the fans largely ignored. After a season without a nickname, the team adopted the Stallions nickname. The team continued to leave Johnny Unitas' 19 retired. The Browns then moved to Baltimore, which caused the Stallions to move to Montreal and be renamed the Alouettes. Unlike the morons in the NFL, the Alouettes do not claim any of the Colts/Stallions old records, because that is laughably dumb. And even the Québécois know it! The last time that a Houston team has been in an AFC Championship Game was in 1980. That has absolutely nothing to do with the Titans. Zero. Franchise records. Blah blah blah. Don't care. I do not start talking about Warren Moon and Earl Campbell as all-time great Titans, because I am not a moron. Moon and Campbell's accomplishments remain in Houston, where they belong. Besides, I am Humpty Dumpty in Through the Looking-Glass. The words that I say mean exactly what I intend them to mean. Houston was only without a team for five years, unlike the 11 seasons that Baltimore was without a team. I personally think that the situations are very different. But you can disagree. Hate on the Québécois, all you would like. I tend to think that the Québécois have the better end of this argument. Houston Link.
