Can't figure out whether the article is tongue-and-cheek. Responsible for 10-3? If the guy did any research at all he would know Tristan has been on the shelf since final game 2020.

I had to read it twice to see the sarcasm in it since he linked him to Mike Riley for one season in Nebraska which had at one time been a national champion , to Georgia because of his age compared to Stetson's QB and the movie star looks was a dig i think . I don't know where he got that Gebbia was responsible for the turn around unless that was some sort of dig

It was all pretty sarcastic. I've seen another article that wasn't sarcastic at all, just completely unimpressed with the idea of signing him.

I'm not sure why Ohio State fans should be excited about signing Gebbia. If he sees the field for them, something went very wrong.

For Gebbia, it's another opportunity to learn from a big-time program. Might have a grad degree that's appealing too. For the Buckeyes, it's an insurance policy. A 3rd/4th QB that's experienced, competent, can manage a game, and a good kid/leader/mentor. Also he might be familiar with the offensive scheme and/or is a good student of the game and told the coaches he's memorize the playbook. Without knowing their QB situation it seems like a win/win for both parties. love to see him succeed there and beyond. I'm a fan of his just like everybody else.

Having quality QBs is an underrated part of the practice squad too. The improvement of our secondary was definitely spurred by having 3 starters available for practice.

Hadn’t even thought about him as a practice squad QB. He’s probably quite capable of playing as upcoming opponent’s QB at a fairly high level…put him in an orange jersey and say don’t hit him while giving your 1 and 2 all the reps on O (assuming he’s brought in as a mentor rather than flat out winning the position). Also, character counts. He’s a 3 year team captain and you could tell how the team felt about him during the bowl game. Having that kind of leadership in the locker room is important for any program, the younger kids will probably learn from him even though he’s new to the program.

It's difficult to say what Gebbia's ceiling is given he's ether had limited time in a system or in recovery from injury. If he's 100% healthy going into spring camp and stays that way, he might prove a more capable QB than some think if an opportunity to play opens up.
He's been an asset to our success and handled the cards he's been dealt in admirable fashion. Wish him good luck and success from here.....

Stupid article.
Yeah, haha, guy transfers to your school to help provide depth, be a good leader, learn from a great coaching staff and all of that, and you're goofing on him? Screw you, Ohio State.
They may not *need* him, but they will benefit from him being there.

I hope there is somebody on the roster to take the leadership roles of gebbia, grant, kipper, colletto, and others.

I don't really like Ohio State, but if Gebbia starts and leads them to a good season, I will be very happy for him.
