What about these pieces? LT, LG, C, RG, RT. The only guy we lose from what has been a very disappointing offensive line is Mitchell, who was possibly the most consistent one. Who are the young guys who have been subbing in? Hopkins. A converted tight end. Hardly a serious Pac-12 solution at tackle. Clarkson, a good player, potentially our starting center next year and ultimately an improvement over Mitchell IMO. Anybody else? Has Kammy Delp played? How was he? If everyone is healthy and comes back, next year's line will be very good. Keep in mind, two of our better olinemen are out this year. Gavin Andrews in RSing due to Mono. Brayden Kearsley (former 4* transfer from BYU) will be eligible. and Issac and Harlow should both be back. That is 4 pretty damn good o-linemen. I also don't get the knock on this years oline. As someone pointed out, we have 4 guys averaging 5+ yards a carry. The current line is not exactly bad. Next year should be better though
Don't you think its a little early for the "This year's O-line will be a lot better," style series of posts that we endure every year? Andrews is not out with Mono. He already had it two years ago and recovered. He is out with an injury. Our track record of having 300 lb behemoths recovery fully from injury has not been good (and neither has anyone else's). Isaac is not the player he was. People keep acting like Harlow is great because he played as a true freshman. Compared to our other guys he was great. But he has to play against other team's other guys. And he has been penalty prone.
The guys I have hope for are Clarkson, Kearsley, and Brandel. Even if those guys all pan out (and Brandel will be only a redshirt freshman) we still have a long way to go to have a solid Pac-12 offensive line. Think of Stanford, Utah. We are at minimum an entire recruiting cycle away from being on that level, best case with recruits turning out.

I agree we are a cycle away from Stanford and Utah Class.....as is 100 other teams in D1 football and 8 others in the Pac 12 ( I'd say for their system, Wazzo is there). However being in the "second tier" this group at OS can be in 2016. Really they might be there in 2015 if Storm can average the YPC he is today with about a YAC a game.

As always, the Beavs are not deep. OK. The OLs are good. But, there is no depth. That is the Beaver team MO for many years, in a nutshell.
Not to bash but was never a fan of Storm. Great kid. He wants to be Marcus Allen but he's not. Beavs have RBs. Injured. What about Haskins and Brown? Injured still?
The WRs are NOT good. ........MULLANEY!.......Yes, if I were him, I guess I'd bail, too. Roll Tide! Bolden....hmmmmm......not what CGA thought he'd be. Villamin is a great kid but he drops balls. Just NO quality leader in the WR corps. How about Paul Lucas and Jarmon Hunter? Next man up. The loss of Guyton is a loss which really isn't saying much. WRs (I thought) have been traditionally a position of strength. Need to fix this pronto for next year.
QBs are just not good. Gonna have to wait. Utah State transfer (b/up to Chuckie). Maybe Garretson is the guy for next year. Funny he's a Chandler HS alum like Moran. I really think Moran may be the guy but CGA needs to break him in slowly. Moran has way more upside than Garretson. What Garretson has is actual experience in this offense. Garretson was just a 2* with SJSU as the other offer (other than Utah State). Sound familiar? Seth at QB was recruited by SJSU as the only other school offering other than OState. I think CGA should remember that he's not in the MWC anymore. Moran is the man in regards to quality and measureables out of HS. And he only played one year at Chandler. Moran played behind Bryce Perkins 2015 ASU QB commit from Chandler HS. But, what if Moran played another year at Chandler? I am pretty sure he'd be a 4* with even more offers. Basically what I'm saying is Garretson is a bandaid for a year or two next year. Work in Moran for year 3 of the CGA Era. I personally would have loved to see VanderVeen take some snaps.
And in my opinion, one of the biggest gets in last years class, Christian Folau ( 4* old school MLB) is on a Mission in San Jose, CA. I'd rather see him playing..... like now. And another signee from 2015's class, Simi Moala, looks pretty beastie at DE (6'7" & 255 lbs). 3*. Probably could have used him .........YESTERDAY but he's on a mission, too. Samoa? Forget.
Depth. Always an issue. I am sure he'll eventually have his players but this seems like it'll take time. Hopefully, the Beavs will improve. CGA seems like a good recruiter. CGA should be able to recruit Pac-12 caliber players. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Stars are misleading and yes, CGA needs to get "his" players but they better be Power 5 Conference caliber for the most part. If not, the rebuild will take a long, long time. Riley got some diamonds in the rough in the past. Riley developed players. But, Riley also took it in the face in regards to recruits, which set the team back. A cycle or two. This year's class (if they sign) is looking good. And I'm sure CGA will be consistent in regards to his recruiting classes. Consistently solid.
This will take some time.

our OC only stays at a school for 2 years normally, so I expect better things in the not too distant future.

The Mountain West is not he Pac-12 but I can't imagine any of our QBs putting up the passing numbers he had at Utah State even if they played for Utah State. He had a 300+ yard game in a win over BYU as a true sophomore. What I wonder about is how he is going to run. He had something like 60 carries for 30 yards for Utah State. But, he won games for them. Running the Baldwin/Matt Wells offense I believe.

We need to be in the Stanford/Utah class to have the kind of success Andersen wants, running the kind of system he appears to want to run (a running game focused spread). If we our O-line is good enough next year to be second tier I would be thrilled.
