More likely he's had plenty of "interest". Any AD with half of a brain is going to contact SR's agent - and the agents for all the other prominent, successful coaches like him. And they make sure the short list of candidates has sufficient "diversity". And then they hire whoever they were going to hire anyway.

Coach Rueck is one of the best WBB coaches in America and I think that statement is pretty much in the vicinity of "generally accepted" and "common knowledge."
However, as mentioned on this board before, his style of coaching, and the pace at which he patterns his offence, are not what many ADs, and many WBB fans, are looking for. In the past 5 years WBB has been increasingly drawn to an imitation of the NBA style...It's not universal, but it's moving in that direction.
So, bottom line, many ADs will agree that Rueck is the best coach available, but not necessarily the best hire. GO BEAVS!! -------------------

With regard to ocbeav's post above this one:
I don't know if anyone has done much research on this - but it has intrigued me for quite a while. Gonzaga has some very deep-pockets propping their program... I wonder how much of it trickles down to Few in one way or another......Fishing cabins, fly-in fishing resorts, car leases, things along those lines that would make life in Spokane that much easier....
I would enjoy hearing from those of you who deal with, or know about, the perks available to coaches in college sports - maybe even as they show up in Gonzaga.
Obviously, I'm not stirring the pot on Few...but I am curious about the "benefits" that might come his way that have nothing to do with his official salary.... Any help on this one? GO BEAVS!!

The perks would be included in Few's contract. But because GU is a private school, his contract is not available for public purview, unlike Rueck's. You are SOL if you file a FOI request.

Hope SR stays like Mark Few, not go after bigger money or stronger conference More money? So, he would go to another school that would pay him more in a sport that loses money? He’s way overpaid here.

He’s way overpaid here. I have read that there are two non-football programs at two colleges in all of college sports that don't lose money. ie, Pretty much all coaches not in football are overpaid, it's just how much they are overpaid.

Most men’s BB programs make money because of the media contracts. Somehow, even OSU’s does. We are just not in the best position to overpay coaches as much with what has happened.

All the new players including Catarina Ferreira at last, plus Kennedie and Suzanna Yepes, not new but new to the court:

I saw Gradiner at the game yesterday behind students section. She hasn’t left for UCLA? Seems really odd that she's not down there and working out/bonding with her new team. It seems like our team is already practicing together? Or maybe she's just in Corvallis for the weekend. But in the end, who give a crap? She doesn't want to be a Beav.

If she is having regrets about leaving, I'd take her back in a heartbeat!
