Many of you will say I am not a true fan. I have been a fan for 50 years. Had season tix. Have been through the many bad years. This is our reality. We cant compete. We will be lucky to beat Boise State. We win 9 or 10 games? Welcome to the who cares bowl. We just cant afford to compete. We cant keep the best coach we had in decades. All our best players left. It's all relative. We should be competitive in the MW, but we will not be competitive against better P4 schools.

And I'm calling bulls%#t on you being a fan for 50 years. If you've lived through the worst period of Beaver Football, then you wouldn't say what you just said. Second, our Pac 2 has accomplished quite a bit, if you hadn't noticed. We avoided being cast off to the dung heap and we've retained respectability. We can rebuild. There will be teams that want to be associated with the Pac. Third, if you really think you saw Beaver football today, you are wrong. The program was decimated with Smith's departure. This isn't what we are. Next year, we will be good. Wait and see. You should keep up with the transfers into the program and the new commits that are being received instead of just looking at departures. We have good people coming into the program. The Beavers should be pretty solid next year. What we don't have, and it was clear today, is great depth. This has always been a problem for the Beavs. A place like Notre Dame will have better second and third string players than our average second or third string player. These are the reasons you can have hope. If you would rather spread doom and gloom, well, that's a weird way to show support for a team. So, you are not a real fan. You are a fair-weather fan. Like a Duck fan. |

I don't know what the future holds but this game will not make a difference as far as how the Beavers do next season.
And the Pac-2 has at least a year and maybe another before a concrete commitment has to be made.
