Don't give Coach Tinkle any ideas No one would believe he'd get a "Bama" type offer. Nor would it change the public opinion on the program. So you dont think he is waiting in the wings for Mark Few's job at Gonzaga?

Does that really matter? Are we necessarily tied to our alma mater? And for how long? Wasn’t rebuilding the program enough? As I’ve said all along, it wasn’t that Smith left that pissed me off; it was the manner in which he did. Exactly, Well put Irmi. It was in how he did it. If he would have had a press conference and said "Hey the plans for the next two years is not for me and here is why....." then it may have come off different. His snake oil salesman mentality is what stinks. He learned from the best, which, is really most all of them.

The problem I have with Smit( is the sarcastic response to the Canzano question about his agent fielding question or being proactive in looking for jobs. Also how honest was Smith in talking to his players or player leadership. For five weeks he sat on an extension and probably a pay raise that says a lot about his decision making process. He took the assistants that were important in the rebuild and also had connections with our future stars(QB, TE, and OL). How long was Smith telling his assistants he was moving on and taking them with him and how long was he communicating with them. I think Smith thought that Trent Bray would go with him, but when Trent decided to stay the was a huge loss( look how long Smith stayed with Tibesar). Did he really have someone in Corvallis talking to players about the transfer portal? I find it hard to believe but when an assistant coach is in Corvallis then suddenly gone it make you wonder. Smith also said in an interview after the Civil war he needed to sleep on his decision about leaving, but had a completely different story when talking to the press in Michigan. I:glad Smith is gone the future is not as dark as many think it is. The coaching staff that is here appears to be better at recruiting than the ones who left. Now it’s time to hit the HS OL for next year they can redshirt. I think the OL will be a concern but I’m excited to see the young players to step up, and to see how the transfer fit in as well.

I think it's way too early to say we have better recruiters now, then when milk maid was here. I think they are doing a tremendous job so far, given the circumstances though. It's undoubtedly going to be harder to recruit to OSU moving forward.
