When it comes to Lilly I have Bias. I hope nothing but the best for her. She was over-the-top kind to people/fans after the games and off the court. Epically sorry it didn't workout for her at OSU. I absolutely admire player growth and development, this past she did both.

Should make you feel all tingly inside knowing we spent considerable time and money recruiting Lily here and then more time, energy, and money developing her so that somebody else can now take that investment and use it to their advantage. Time, energy, and money not well spent.

Lilly supposedly already committed to indiana. Someone could nicely ask her how she is doing and if she is having second thoughts. Lily posted some pics on X a little while ago re: her visit to Iowa State, and a follow up message re: "Visit 2 loading" with a hint by way of school colors. Seems she is not having second thoughts from those posts. Go Beavers!

Sort of sorry Beers went for Oklahoma. Closer to her family, but not closer to the Final Four than our team would have been with the transfers!

TvO makes SC instantly better. The addition of Kiki and TvO to the USC squad makes SC a top 3 team next season. I'm am not so sure she's a great fit there, but for sure she's on a team that will challenge for the title; Iriafen and Watson together are a super-team. TvO is effective with the ball in her hands. Watson is effective with the ball in her hands, and TvO isn't going to become the offense-setter with Watson there. Iriafen plays really well without the ball in her hands, and is a good fit with both TvO and Watson's games. I'm guessing TvO will need to return to her first-year 3pt shooting efficiency to be a big impact for that offense, but her growth as a defender may keep her on the court regardless. This is the NBA circle 2010 Miami Heat. It really degraded the NBA, and it's now trickled fully to NCAA WBB.

TvO is at her best as a third (or worse) option on offense where she can be a playmaker, which she excels at doing. Her efficiency should increase playing with Watkins and Iriafen, and they should contend for a title. It’s interesting seeing her, Watkins, and Iriafen being labelled a trio because IMO she’s a few levels below those two.

My take is Rae was not happy here. Nothing to do with OSU basketball. Think it had everything to do with culture, wanting to go home, that sort of thing. Bless her hart. Side observation. On camera and in front of a crowd her personality shined. That's hard to keep up. Off camera it was a different story.

"Off camera it was a different story." Your tone conveys the impression that you know something first-hand. But tone and knowing are two different things...
Why would you say that she was different off camera? Why would you say she was not happy at OSU? Just curious. GO BEAVS!!

She very well may not have been happy here (I have no way of knowing)...but now that she has announced transferring to Oklahoma, with her 1st reason being that "God Has a Plan"...it makes me think that it may have had something to do with "culture". For me, that's part of the reason that I love living in Oregon (for 75 years now), and you couldn't pay me to move to Oklahoma.

I find it bizarre how other teams fans talk up their players no matter what and Beaver fans feel the need to hammer down their players.
TVO was statistically the best defensive guard on one of the top ten defensive teams in the country.
And on her passing, for players who played 20 or more games, 20 or more minutes/game, averaged 4 or more assists/game, and scored in double figures/game Talia is the number 2 players coming back to power 5 teams next year based on her assists/TO's.
ie She is the second best passer coming back next season who can also score.

I haven't sampled what "other teams fans" say about departing players. I would hazard a guess that those other teams didn't reach the Elite 8 in 2024, and potentially have the entire roster returning, and yet have 8 players transfer (who had 1 to 3 years eligibility remaining). It's kind of it's own unique case.

Wonder how many fans realize when a team brings in a grad transfer they are there to play a specific role, not be a star. It's hard on the player. TVO never been a role player she's always been the STAR. At USC she becomes a PG but option #5 in the offense. Thats a long way to go from option 1 or 2 which she's always been. There won't be any leading the crowd, jumping up on tables, and not many press conference for her. I wish her well. But it will be a difficult transition for her.

I absolutely admire player growth and development, this past she did both. As I explained in an earlier post, saying 'it didn't work out for her at OSU' is absolute bull s%#t. She was at a better program than her high school ranking might have justified, she got more minutes (including important minutes) as a sophomore than she did as a freshman, her college level game was developing nicely (hence the additional minutes), she would have been in a position for even more minutes as a junior, she was very popular with the fan base, she played in front of big crowds, she got to go to Italy and Hawaii (twice), she got to play in the Elite Eight, her team finished ranked higher than 341 other D1 teams (and higher than where she'll wind up next year will), and her team would have been top ten her junior and senior years. What the f%#* wasn't working out?
