"We're in serious need of some offensive help to even contend in the upper half of the wcc right now. Rees and AJ being the exception." Interesting. Like Santa Clara's Tess Heal, in the Portal, 2nd in scoring WCC... The question is whether she's leaving Santa Clara to move up a league or whether she's just exploring NIL (or both I guess).

We're in serious need of some offensive help to even contend in the upper half of the wcc right now. I would be looking for a PG that can score and create, two 3 and d kids and a big that can get you a double double often. The roster is mostly girls that would be coming off the bench at University of Portland. Rees and AJ being the exception. Any idea when we might hear something about Dom - staying or leaving? GO BEAVS!! Dom is transferring.

Dom thing. I wonder about. Thinking Scott might want a fresh start. When I look at Prospect Nation and the Transfer Portal I see lots of players eager to come to an elite 8 team. Question to my self. Was it the players or the coach who got us to the elite 8 this season? Same players as year before year who were horrible, first losing in season a while. This past season Scott figured out everybody's role and they succeed. We really didn't have any stars on the team. Couple really good play (Beers/Tima) TV flat lined, her scoring decreased while her TO's increased.
Finding my self looking forward to what's next?

But it wasn't really the same players. Not exactly. Beers established herself as a top player as a freshman and then became a star level player this past season. Part of that was the arrival of Hunter, who was an immediate upgrade at point guard. Also, Timea was very limited during her freshman year due to the injury and was able to show why she was such a highly rated recruit this past season. Dom arrived as a freshman and showed that she has a pretty high ceiling and added a lot of speed and some scoring ability. Lily got better. The team had much better depth than the previous season with Dom, Rees and Shuler coming in and contributing. What's next? Not another Elite Eight run, I'll say that. As it stands right now, I don't think winning the WCC is realistic.

The current roster can’t compete in the upper half of the wcc. Hopefully help is on the way. Need scoring very badly!

Between her and Gardiner being healthy and showing what they were capable of, it really wasn't the same players.

She was nursing an injury in 2022-23 and got it taken care of. She started all 35 games and played 27.1 minutes a game. Maybe it took her a little extra time early in the season to find her legs. Nobody was talking about an injury after that UCLA win or any other big game. Her all around game was fine. She still rebounded and got a big share of assists. The truth is TVO does not have great speed or quickness. She struggles to create offense against solid defenders unless she's allowed to power her way to the hoop. Once she became very inconsistent with her outside shot, this became all the more evident. Not to mention her tendency to just be lackadaisical and sloppy with her play (mostly passing). She burst on the scene during that first season and a lot of OSU fans immediately anointed her as the next big star. She never was good enough to live up to it. Nothing against you but I've just had my fill of "there must be something wrong with TVO" every time she didn't come through with a big game in the last few years.

The 22-23 season she had a couple monster games in OOC, but she was pretty much awful the entire conference schedule. To me something was wrong. She finally shut it down with what, 2 regular season games left? She probably should've done that a month or more earlier. She's always been hot and cold, but there was no hot in Pac 12 play that year, she was off just about every game.

Yeah...just saying that she started 35 games and played 27.1 minutes a game this season. I agree that she probably should have shut it down a month earlier last season instead of trying to push through a torn meniscus injury that was clearly causing her problems. It's pretty doubtful that a torn meniscus caused any real lingering problems this season. She had surgery in March, plenty of time for an athlete to be ready for the next season.

I was saying TVO and Gardiner were both healthier and a better versions of themselves in 23-24 compared to 22-23.

I stand by my TVO comments, though.
