At least Pettibone had an offensive game plan, the know how to run it, and a clear team identity. His teams also played tough defense. He'd be a big upgrade. I would argue that Rocky Long, who was here all but the last JP year, had a good defense. I lobbied at the time to fire JP and hire Long as the head coach. It was depressing how many games we could have won with his defense and an adequate offense. Hiring assistants is one of the HC's biggest most important decisions. From that standpoint, JP gets good marks for finding and hiring Rocky Long.

A good HC want to be surrounded by great minds and teachers, not "yes men". On these points GAG fails. *I just noticed I've used "GAG" enough it's now a learn word on my phone 😁

Well, whatever you like or not.... Here's Dr. Ray's email responsed to my email about my frustrating with CGA this morning "Coach Anderson takes the current circumstances to heart. He is a proven winner and he is working hard with players and staff to win games. I appreciate your continuing support for the Beavers. I honestly believe the best is yet to come and no one wants that more than coach Anderson. Ed" Looks like CGA will be staying for a while. All you need to know about how invested Ed Ray truly is in our football program is found in his spelling of his head coach's name. If he were serious about this, he'd be fine-toothing every detail about the leader of this team, and he'd surely know how to spell the guy's name. My confidence in Ray's leadership regarding the future of OSU football just took another hit. The content itself is probably borrowed from "The College President's Guide to Status Quo" responses regarding lousy coaches, and may not have that much to do with how he really feels about OUR lousy coach!
