Ken Austin has already been generous, The Austin Business Building is named in his family's honor after a major donation.
Edens supposedly gave a ton of money on the QT to help renovate the locker room and for other Gill upgrades.

As far as donors go, the Reser family is by far the most invested in our athletics programs. Looking at this list, I wonder what we could do if one or two of these had a passion for OSU athletics like the Reser family: Name Years They Attended Affiliation
Peggy Cherng 1969–1971 CEO of Panda Express Randy Conrads 1972 Founder of Classmates.com Timothy S. Leatherman 1970 Inventor of the Leatherman tool Bernie Newcomb 1965 Co-founder of E*TRADE Leonard Shoen ? Founder of U-Haul Don Robert ? CEO of Experian John A. Young 1953 Former president and CEO of Hewlett-Packard Douglas Engelbart 1948 Inventor of the computer mouse Might also add Ken Austin, owner of Austin Dental Equipment (ADEC), and the original Benny the Beaver. Also the namesake of the new business building.

Somebody must have made quite a few bucks there. Every bar has a jug of cherries in the well. Ice Cream Parlors too.

Miller/Coors has a far bigger marketing budget than McMeniamin's, too. I believe Doug Engelbart invented the mouse while working at Stanford, not as an individual who could have patented the technology and made a fortune. I would never buy a Coors a Miller or a Budwiser, maybe they have a bigger marketing budget, but they are all crappy beers.... McMeniamin's isn't my fave, but I will take it over any of this swill. The only time I will drink a Coors is if I have been offered one from someone that doesn't know me. It's courtesy only! The donor thing is really being belabored. If they want to give money to the University they will, might not be football related, but it's their money. Actually I would rather the money be spent first on education, secondly on athletics, but that's not saying that athletics are not important to the academic part of the University!

McMennimin's and Widmer are both tied to OSU. With OSU's fermentation program who knows how many micro breweries are already comtributing to the university. www.oregonbrewcrew.org/news/4138439 - This is just a very small example, not sure if there is more.

Maybe, but the mass minority doesn't have a loss of taste buds from drinking the swill that they pass off as beer in this country!

And you're obviously in the mass minority regarding your beer choice fwiw. Actually, maybe not such a minority. In Oregon, 65% of all draft beers consumed were brewed in Oregon last year. That's pretty significant if you think about it. When you look at overall beer consumption, only 24% were brewed in Oregon. So I guess a lot of Oregonians drink beer from bottles and cans and select the cheap stuff or out of state stuff. But the fact is, a football game isn't the place to drink a quality brew. I drank the Coors at the Minnesota game. It was my first Coors in more than 30 years of beer drinking. Will I have it again? Only if there are no other choices! (But don't tell Coors because they might pull their sponsorship.)

It irritates me that this list doesn't include those who have benefitted directly from OSU athletics. I'm sure some care about our teams...maybe, but why not ask the men who played here to share the love a little?
