I prefer to think of DG as "really rusty". That's 18 starts over what, 5 years in multiple slightly different systems and playbooks? I saw definite improvement in him this last game versus the previous week, and I'm sticking with that. If he can continue to make steps forward, even baby steps forward, and we start playing teams who's defensive lines who are closer physical matches to our offensive line (it's still a very young line on the whole) there's a decent shot at moving the ball. At that point it's execution and errors.

If that's the case, he needs to soak in an oil bath instead of the cold tub post haste!

if by great ball you mean he completes a pass 20% of the time that sounds about right. (I know his completion rate is probably more like in the 40s. Dont care) So far this season DG has thrown the ball like a scaredy pants freshman instead of a well seasoned journeyman QB. He doesn't set up his feet right. He doesn't scan the field, ever. He just locks onto his target from the get go and flings it with poor mechanics and no follow through, every time that i can see. This is disappointing. He has certainly had some coaching and has had enough field time to slow the game down and at least make some reads and show some savvy out there. I realize the opposing defenses have been upper tier lately but nothing i have seen from him has been the least bit entertaining. I am convinced the beavs would get more production from Collins at QB with a scaled down offense and constant run threat. Mix in some wildcat. Couldn't be much worse. The funny thing was, during the broadcast, the commentator kept mentioning how a "more experienced QB than Garretson" would have made that play. He made at least a couple of allusions to how DG was inexperienced. This after they already stated that Garretson had 18 starts between Utah State and Oregon State. The dude is a Senior with 18 starts. Inexperience is NOT his problem. SaveSaveGod bless you for watching these games unmuted. I just... can't.

If we don't find a new QB, the win total will be 1.
Even if our D continues to improve you're putting them on the field a lot. Can't expect miracles every game.
There has to be 1 QB among the lot of current and former QBs we have (still on the team) who can throw better downfield than DG. I'll be pretty surprised if Luton comes back this year and, even then, the offense is a total mis-match for his skills.
Screw it, let's just bring in a new OC.
