Why pussyfoot around, this staff has completely fubared the offense, and in particular the QB selection. None of us would have taken the abortion/disaster of QB selection/rotation if Riley were in charge.
Guess what position Tanner McEvoy, Wisconsins starter last year, is playing this year: none of us should be surprised to learn he is a wide receiver now. Based on what the staff has done you just have to wonder if they also missed that either Del Rio or Vanderveen was the best option last spring. It sure seems obvious now why Mullany left, doesn't it?
Young young, transition transition blah blah blah, this is the returning offense from last year minus Mannion plus Seamalo. No way in he!! Should it be this incompetent.
This is staff may talk a good game, they may have great demeanor, but let's face it, the results on the field so far have been putrid, just a horrible step back. Great coaching staffs do not have teams that play this poorly, ever, no matter the circumstances. Well Sonny Dykes at Cal blah blah blah, Cal still sucks and Sonny Dykes still sucks.
there now I feel better. Going back to bed.

Had the exact same thought. It took 6 games for the staff to figure out that our best chance to win is with a pro set. Duh. Now here we are with our best QBs gone or switched positions. I think most Beaver fans were ready to accept 4 or 5 wins, but getting two wins and joining the 0-9 club in conference raises lots of questions about this coaching staff, IMO. I can already feel myself fighting off the apathy...
My biggest concern with our choice of offensive system is that it doesn't seem to be based on any belief or philosophy of our offensive coaches; we just seem to be doing what we're doing because that's what teams do nowadays. It's like we're an also-ran...
I will say this: I wasn't at the game, and was really tempted to turn it off several times because I can only take so much incompetence. But I stuck around for one reason: Ryan Nall. That's the one bright spot that will keep me paying attention to this season. What a joy to watch him play...
GO BEAVS!

I am not a fan of forcing out coordinators, but based on what I have seen of Baldwin (his interviews and product on the field), I hope CGA takes long hard look at upgrading that coaching spot in the off season...a long HARD look.

You guys really need a reality check. "Most beaver fans were ready to accept 4 or 5 wins" Really? i was expecting 3 or 4 but this season was never going to be about the win total. All of the QB's are FRESHMAN our starting QB is a TRUE FRESHMAN that has barely played football and they implementing an entirely new offense from the Mike Riley Era. These coaches are dealing with the cards that were dealt to them. Give it time and calm down.

Baldwin has only stayed coaching 3 years at the most at any one place....

this is the returning offense from last year minus Mannion plus Seamalo. well we didn't seem to run the ball well last year (with exception of a couple of quarters here and there before going to pass heavy) So offense seems about the same considering not having a pretty accurate passer available in Mannion.

I'd agree with that - you can say we 'just' lost Mannion, but that means we 'just' lost the most prolific passer in the history of the PAC-12 Conference. As for the other available options, I trust you saw Vanderveen's pass a few weeks back?

Offense is changing out from Riley to Andersen with three freshmen QB's. RESPECT THE PROCESS.

Mannion was a good QB for OSU but he's vastly overrated. I'd take Smith, Canfield, Anderson, and Moore over Mannion (probably not Moevao but it's close).

Maybe we should get Mike Garrett. He is available. Baldwin coached Garrett Grayson who is now a pro. I think the guy can coach.

Right, so Terry Baker isn't as good as Mannion because Terry didn't last in the pro's. Great logic.

Well Sonny Dykes at Cal blah blah blah, Cal still sucks and Sonny Dykes still sucks. there now I feel better. Going back to bed. So far, this staff has played one QB for half of a season, and then had him split time with someone else for the seventh game. Where's the beef? I can't believe trying out different quarterbacks is so unusual where a new staff takes over a program. Riley had Terrance Bryant start eight games and then replaced him with Jonathon Smith. It happens. Tanner McEvoy was a JC transfer that Andersen brought in because he wanted a dual threat quarterback. Wiscy had none. He didn't work out for them at QB. So what? Happens all the time in this game that JC transfers don't work out. It also happens all the time that players, including quarterbacks, shift position. Chryst, whose offense is similar to Riley's, doesn't need a dual threat QB so he made McEvoy a wide receiver. Sound familiar? It should. Riley had Seth Trimmer play QB and Erickson made him a wide receiver. Riley had Seneca Wallace play defensive back and Iowa State made him a QB, as did the Seahawks. Riley had Tim Alexander play quarterback and then made him a wide receiver. Riley had Vanderveen at QB and then Andersen made him a tight end. Do you need more examples?
