so Cory Hall is out then. A part of me feels bad that Hall didn't make the cut but maybe both sides need a clean slate. Good luck Cory and thanks for at least providing a couple of entertaining close games to what was otherwise a dismal season.

Very happy about this. Very happy to wash the slate clean, and remove all traces of the stain that was Gary Anderpants' staff. Good luck in your future endeavors Coach Hall.

I'm liking that according to Rivals Burns has recruited extensively in southern Cal, Texas & Florida.

How could you feel bad? coaches know the risks... and, as many here have said CH had a very limited resume. For GAWD's sake there were several who wanted him as HC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Look at this dude's resume... CH not even in the same category. GREAT get!

When you compare resumes, Hall doesn't come close to Burns. A much more qualified coach was hired. In retrospect I'm glad Smith is wiping the slate clean, the players don't have to worry about anyone from the prior staff tainting player evaluation or the dept chart. This staff is an upgrade, OSU went from a Mountain West staff to a legit PAC-12 staff. I like that Smith is hiring guys with a broad range of experience and many know the PAC-12 and west coast well.

Like I said only "a part of me" feels bad...... sorry... wasn't dissing... but these hires were better than what I was told!!! This is a VERY well-rounded staff of "teachers". No way anyone could have hoped for better coming off the GA era. Just never ever understood the CH "love fest". GO BEAVS

Legit Pac-12 staff is right. That was my fear w/JS being hired -that he'd assemble a group made up of a bunch of Mtn West/Big Sky types. Michalczik has 15+yrs in the league (loved that hire), Burns has 11 yrs in the conference and a couple National Championships under his belt. Lindgren has spent the last 4 at Colorado. Bray and that old guy coaching TEs have been around the conference for a spell. Tibesar has gone up against the Ohio States and Michigans of the world. Familiarity with the conference will absolutely pay dividends when it comes to game planning for P12 play. Dare I say, we might actually look prepared? I know we still need plenty of horses, but I really like what JS has put together.

It will not take too long for the right "jimmies and joes" to figure out OSU has a great staff and a chance to play right away. I'm not talking all the 5* types, but the hard working 2-4* that can see that these guys can teach the game and have put a lot of players like them at the next level. GO BEAVS
