I like it. It's gots some swagger to it, dope af 👌🏻👍🏻💪🏻🔥 wasted opportunity for solar panels in some sort of GO BEAVS array. Could also incorporate 4 windmills on the top of each goal post upright! Then, get the crowd doing the wave, and harness........

Am I the only one that thinks the VFC did nothing to enhance the visual appeal of seating from inside the stadium? An orange metal roof with a banner on it? One row of windows and a large patch of concrete/stucco? I know there are budget constraints, but man, just a little bit of vision and foresight would have gone a long way. Are you talking about the VFC in general or the new remodel/expansion (The big auditorium, the terrace, etc.)? One's opinion of the VFC would be greatly influenced by who they are and what they expect at a sporting event... I am a pretty simple fan. I want a place to sit, and a good view of the game, and a loud/engaged/full crowd (granted that has more to do with the state of the team and not the stadium). I couldn't care less what the stands around me look like, what year they were built in, if the latest craft beer is on tap, if there is wifi, I rarely eat any concessions so I don't care if there is organic sushi from the hippest restaurant in town, all I really want is a coffee if it's chilly and a soda if it's hot, cheaper is better My Wife's primary concern is that her phone has connection , wifi or cell coverage she doesn't care (at seat charging would be a HUGE feature). Second concern is an interesting / tasty food cart style meal, and a good IPA. Here the Terrace has been a big boon, the selection still isn't awesome, but at least there is SOME. Third concern is weather, "Ugg it's raining", "Ugg it's too hot", OSU needs a dome! Fourth concern is proximity and access to friends and family that are also in the crowd.... etc. Wife: "Why is everyone yelling? Oh huh, there is something going on down on the grass thing", Me (yelling): "Siiigh, yeah 1 minute left in the fourth quarter we are trying to hold a lead, make some noise!" My kids' primary concerns are the bounce houses in truax, why I won't buy them a second bowl of $10 dippin dots (seriously the creator of dippin dots deserves a good punch in the nose), and when they can go home and play on their devices Finally, maybe the most important demographic: Recruits. IMHO, recruits care way, Way, WAY less about the stands than we think. They care about the coach, the system being run, the playing time available, the competitiveness of the team, The locker room, the swag in the players lounge, the weight room, the quality of female companionship on campus and the ease with which to meet them, the vibe and feel of the team and teammates (friendly, cliquey, encouraging, back biting, etc.), the classes/academics (both ends, some players looking for a quality education, some looking for North Carolina style classes to pass), the list goes on and on, but I would put "the look of the stadium from a fans or TV cameras perspective" at about #77... IRT the VFC I think they love it the new remodel was a big improvement and an awesome place to show off to recruits. I think the VFC and recent renovations look good enough, maybe even great if you consider the state and place of OSU athletics in general and football in particular. Having said all that I would also put "Finishing the West Side"* way down the to do list for the athletics department as well... But, that will probably get me lots of boos *depends on what that means, some sort of multi purpose, year round type building incorporated into a structure that also serves as the west side seating intrigues me and would raise it up the list

Why is there not a NuScale (a corvallis company born out of OSU) Reactor incorporated too??? OSU could power the entire campus and then sell the left over power! Football might actually start making money!

The building still looks way outdated from the outside besides the nose job they did in the front.

Now get rid of the "white" walls... solid orange would "pop" with the black seats and windows top and bottom... call maintenance... get it done!

You know OSU has a reactor on campus as well right? In fact it is much more powerful than Reed's (about 5 times, thousands when pulsed), and the only thing covering the core is some water... No concrete enclosure or anything... Some one start making the protest signs! (In case it wasn't clear I am a huge proponent of nuclear power and am joking about protesting)

The irony to me is the stereotypical type of student attending Reed. It fits at OSU. At Reed? Not so much...

Considering the budget constraints and what not, not much you can do but there is a lipstick on a pig feeling to it compared to what was accomplished with east side rebuild, which is pretty awesome visually. IMO, considering it's the entire end of a stadium, it doesn't enhance anything visually speaking. It's what, 10 rows of seats against a concrete structure that looks like an office building built in the 70's. It looks like what it is, a piecemeal addition to a half completed stadium. Hell, move Weatherford or the MU over there and design around that. Something to match the awesome architecture that exists at OSU.
Now don't get me wrong, I've never even been there so I don't get a vote. Just observing. But if you could start all over, clear it all out, and re-think it, I think even with the budget constraints what they are, you could come up with a far better design. It's like they took one of the worst stadiums in the Pac 12 and upgraded it with one of the worst looking end zones in the Pac 12.
Again, just my opinion. And I know it doesn't count! Reser is one of the weirdest looking stadiums in college football.

The irony to me is the stereotypical type of student attending Reed. It fits at OSU. At Reed? Not so much... Back in '77 there were OSU kids driving up to Ranier on the weekends to protest the power plant. They never said a peep about OSU's reactor from what I could tell.

About how many NE's does OSU graduate each year now days? I think it was around 15 in the eighties. They either went to work for the big utilities or the Navy. I imagine the Navy is the only game in town now.

Can’t remember where the other one started, but he’s worked for engineering firms for 15-20 years, in Ohio, Utah, and at Hanford. The other guy went back to law school and is a corporate lawyer for Daimler. I found it funny that the lowest threshold for admittance into the professional engineering school was in NE, and it wasn’t close! Seemed so wrong.

There are a lot of jobs for nuke engineers right now. I have a nephew-in-law only about 5 years out of college working for NuScale here in Corvallis, and a lot of old engineers are retiring - there is either going to be a renaissance in nuclear power or the wind is going to blow it away, but for the moment, if you study nuclear science, it buys a lot of beer
