If Smith were 6'6 240 he'd be a 10 year NFL starter. They called Derek "Anderception" for a reason. And if my Aunt had balls, she’d be my Uncle. Andersen not Anderson. Reading is fundamental!

I'm f%#*ing stupid.
Also I should be forgiven for remembering the correct incorrectly spelled Andersen. I thought this was about Beavers and not quitters. That's my story.

The thread is about Gary vs Jonathan, which I now get. Still an odd way to point it out imo.

Could Andersen be around at Utah State by 2024? We have an open slot for a welcome back party. I may just want to get a ticket in the first few rows between the 30 yard lines on the west side.

Unfortunately.... if we are talking about opening day 2019... I am afraid to say that this would be a much closer contest than we would like. USU is coming off of an 11-2 season, winning the mountain west. Lets not forget that we lost to Colorado state and Nevada from the mountain west the last couple years.... teams that DIDN'T win the conference....
USU is returning a very good QB, one that just missed the SI top 100 players (he made the "all snubbed" team), and has exactly 1 player in the top 100 just like we do (Jermar #59, they have a linebacker at #80).
If we were playing USU instead of OSU to start the season, I would be nervous, but optimistic. It would be an upset in Las Vegas' eyes thats for sure, but one that I think we are capable of.
Now if we are talking a few years from now.... I think Smith has us on the rise, and regardless if Gary Andersen sinks USU's boat or not I think we surpass them. It will be interesting to see how Gary does in a smaller pond, with lower expectations, in a place he is known and knows and in a non P5 conference with a great setup by Matt Wells. Maybe his brand of big boy pants machoism will work there, maybe he will crap the bed and quit in disgrace again.

I would be more interested in booing BYU if sitake had the boys to come to Reser.

We agree the GAG roundtable was more like the pizza parlor than King Arthur but at least three of those guys (including GAG) are currently head coaches and two others are D1 head coordinators. How did that happen?
