As someone who will never ever wake up at 4 AM on a Saturday morning to pack up the kids, drive from Portland to Corvallis to hopefully catch an hour of tailgating before kick-off, I'm actually quite pleased I may soon get the chance to wake up hungover as all getgo, and roll out of bed to not see Kentucky, Rutgers, or Northwestern ruin my Saturday morning.
Not sure another 10% decline in a attendance is worth a few more rating points, I'd venture to guess unless the team playing is Washington, Oregon, or USC, no one east of the Rockies would bother tuning in anyway.
But for me? Yeah boy!

But for me? Yeah boy! That's refreshing. A feel good post on the football team board about not supporting the football team. At least you feel good.

FTR I've never stepped foot in Reser, waiting for them to finish the stadium...you know, like the big reveal on HGTV. Not holding my breath that happens soon. Went to dozens of games at Parker before I moved forever from Oregon in the 80s. 3 civil wars in Eugene since Steven Jackson. I've also seen the Beavs play 3 times in Nevada (4 if you count baseball) and more than a few times in SoCal. Now that I'm in Reno I'll be driving over the hill with the kids to see the Beavs play at Cal or Stanford. Maybe its a Corvallis thing. Or like you say, I dont really support the football program.

For all of the bitching on the board about OSU's "unfinished" stadium, it looks nothing like it did in the 80s. It looks like a finished stadium, except that the finish is nicer on 3 sides. You should make a trip up some day, I'd think you'd be pleasantly surprised.

Truth, I haven't been to a game in Corvallis because Ive lived 1000 miles away, I own my own 24 hour a day business, have a kid that lived in a different city I needed to visit twice a month for 16 years, not to mention a wife and two other kids playing sports and doing the usual kid stuff. I went to the games in Eugene because I got free tix and sat in a private catered box, or just happened to be in Oregon visiting family and the game was in Eugene. If I had the time I'd be at Reser at least once a year. Have a ton of friends that are season ticket holders. I know that doesn't qualify me as a true beaver fan like cheesedick, but I respect the hardcoreness.

And when are you going to pay for that finished West Side, so we can have RenoBeaver field at Reser Stadium? Has a nice ring to it

I drive/fly down from Seattle for all the home games, usually really late the night before. This is terrible news to me because I won't get much of a power nap before kickoff. 9AM kickoffs are right there with Friday games for me...

If I owned a casino I'd bankrupt it 4 times and become POTUS, then make OSU the "National" University and Benny the "National" mascot. Taxpayers would not only fund Reser, they'd pay to rebuild Gil, which I haven't been in since I was in HS in the 80s. I imagine it still has that same old building smell it did back then, which actually was a cool thing.
Recently relocated to Reno from Las Vegas. Didn't own a casino there either, although my wife still works for Wynn

Well, in all fairness, without the name calling, you did say, and I believe the acronym stands for “for the record” , “FTR I've never stepped foot in Reser, waiting for them to finish the stadium..”. So, there’s that.
