misery state LB are 6-7 yards deep in an obvious run situation. The ok state running back Justice Hill is lightning fast but this is no way to try to defend him and looks suspiciously like last year's beaver D. Sure, you give your linebackers a better view of the backfield back there and you think you are getting a better angle on him when he pops through but in reality you give their blockers momentum and give their ballcarrier time and room to plan his move. And yeah Justice Hill is gone to the NFL but Hubbard and LD Brown look to be just as fast. (By the way i take Jermar over these guys because he has better vision and power:-) but wow you simply have to play more aggressive D than this

FCS 4-7 team that even last year's OSU team goes 10-1 or 9-2 versus that schedule. FCS teams can provide some upsets, but they do not play P5 football on a weekly basis and do not have the quality depth to do so. Add... this is NOT last year's team, bring on the Cowboy's let's see where this steam stands.

They are wearing out the tape of that 2018 FCS quality defense and maybe some advance scout's iPhone footage from saturday. Their primary concern seems to be using the opener as a QB final exam so they can decide who their starter is going to be for their real games.

Who their starter is probably doesn't matter to their offensive coordinator. Last year at Princeton he supposedly had 2 and 3 QBs on the field during the same play frequently. 47 points and 536 yards a game is a lot of offense. It'll be curious to see how his O scheme translates to Power 5 play and if they get it completely installed this year.

He'll likely find that the transition to "big boy" football and D1 athletes on the other side isn't so easy, and trickeration is easily counter by speed and athleticism. This isn't Ivy League football! Just as some D1 type haven't been highly successful at the NFL level, either have a lot of FCS types in the FBS ranks when it comes to radical schemes.

Couldn't tell that by the way the Chipster's offense worked, for several years at least, at this level. I realize that could be an exception, but it's not written in stone that what works in the FCS won't at this level.

Last year just about anything worked against our defense - I am really hoping that the evaluations of our current improvement are on spot, and all they have to look at is last year's video, because that wouldn't scare a Div III offense.

Personal foul on #1111 for using the term "big boy" while referring to the 2019 version of Oregon State football. After 4 years of "big boy football" I'm ready to return to "Beaver Football" Let 'em play that other stuff at Utah State. Crap, now I have to call two penalties on myself......... Go Beavs!!

Speaking of Utah State, they have a pretty good passing QB coming back, It'll be interesting to see if GA gives Sanford the freedom to not ruin him.

Maybe they will need some help this year at Fresneck, Florida, Alabama or Iowa State! I am sure GAG will find something wrong with him, so he can chase him away, and bring in "his guy"
