Nice drive by Gebbia. Sure, it is late in the game, but his passes were crisp, strong arm, seemed mobile
It is wise to give him reps. Luton has yet to finish a season.

My $.02
Need Pressure on Qb Should blitz more. Or at all? Need J Moore Too much open space
Offense: Better run blocking
Not an insurmountable list actually.

Luton is not the problem. Still not sure how good our offense is, OK St. Defense was ranked 2nd to last in the Big12 last year which is a terrible defensive conference.

Maybe I am wrong, but I was underwhelmed by our LB play. I didn’t see much filling the hole. Not a lot of stretching plays to the boundary. Few LBs in the backfield. And no punishment of the ball carrier. LBs were not physical, let the RB initiate contact and stretch for an additional yard.
After all the reports that we were strong and deep and once again Linebacker U, it just seemed underwhelming.
Gumbs did play well, had a nose for the ball, especially early.

So glad to see Gebbia played the last drive and lead to a TD. Offense is doing fine tonight. Scored 36 points which would win many games with good defense.
Very disappointed with defense, gave up 52 which isn’t acceptable. If that don’t improve as season goes on, I would think Cal Poly would be the only one winable game. 1-11 would be more likely, Hope I am wrong. Still looking forward to watch next game vs Hawaii. This is CJS 2nd year with expecting to improve I believe offense is improving but not Defense.

This coaching staff is not good Between the defense, sticking with the Jake Luton roller coaster, not getting our best player the ball the entire first half, the play calling, the strange going for two and then chasing points Could you elaborate on who is our best player? Gebbia didn't get the ball til the last drive, is it him? I don't recall Togiai getting the ball in the first half, but there's mentions in several earlier threads he's a penalty or a drop waiting to happen, can he be our best player? I didn't see Gumbs get the ball in the first half, but he did have 2 sacks and at least 1 TFL, maybe he's the best player you're talking about? C'mon, be specific.

Silly Drunk and Stupid; Gebbia is the backup QB, therefore on the internet he is the best player, most popular player, most talented player, genetically perfect athlete who aced the SAT and carries a 4.0 in physics, and would win the Heisman if only the stupid OC would pull his head out.

So I see a lot of people in this thread griping about our D... I want to see more games. It's a work in progress for certain, but 1 game does not tell all necessarily.
How good was Oklahoma State's offense? If we're as bad at defense as some posters seem to make it, Oklahoma state is going to average about 24-28 the rest of the season. Somehow I doubt that.
The season isn't one game long. I saw a bunch of positives on both sides of the ball.

If Luton gets a seventh year... please no He won’t, but 3 td 0 picks doesn’t do it for Gilligan? I actually like him (good guy) and really root for him but the three three and outs killed us and his limitations to make plays and give us a chance to get at least a couple first downs in those situations is just stifling. As far as no picks, he's lucky one of his passes was batted down cuz he threw the out route to a receiver who had a defender on top and underneath and probably would of been a pick six.
