So I see a lot of people in this thread griping about our D... I want to see more games. It's a work in progress for certain, but 1 game does not tell all necessarily. How good was Oklahoma State's offense? If we're as bad at defense as some posters seem to make it, Oklahoma state is going to average about 24-28 the rest of the season. Somehow I doubt that. The season isn't one game long. I saw a bunch of positives on both sides of the ball. No doubt that was one of the best offenses we will see all year. Problem is, it is also one of he worst Defenses we will see.

He won’t, but 3 td 0 picks doesn’t do it for Gilligan? I actually like him (good guy) and really root for him but the three three and outs killed us and his limitations to make plays and give us a chance to get at least a couple first downs in those situations is just stifling. As far as no picks, he's lucky one of his passes was batted down cuz he threw the out route to a receiver who had a defender on top and underneath and probably would of been a pick six. He stil doesnt seem to take what the defense is giving him and the passing tree seems a little incomplete. But he only took 1 sack, scrambled ok, slid safely or through the ball away. I see improvements but his ceiling is now very visible. But Blaming the qb when your D is this bad is missing the point.

I think I will give him more than 4 quarters against what might be the best Offense in the Big12 Except it's not... But, we'll see. Tibs in my mind was on the hot seat and this dud doesn't do him any favors. I'll be inspired if Smith will at least can him before the season is over if this is the norm for us AGAIN. He is probably a great guy but doesn't seem to be a great motivator. If we don't improve the trajectory it will be so much harder to get and keep our recruits and Smith has to actually consider his own future!!

But... it's over! Period... say what you will, OkSt would be my pick for top 3 in the north, maybe 2nd if true frosh improves and can play that way vs good Ds.
Moving on... no big injuries... Arizona blah blah blah... Hawaii is no no no where close to OkSt at any position or as a team. Not a single Rainbow would start for the Cowboys. Next week is a W without improvement... and OSU will show improvements.
Cal Poly is a W... might be in front of 20k... but, a W.
2-1 heading into Pac12 play is improvement. Then let them take that momentum and see what happens with this team.
Tibs... show us more!

D is a shambles. Where is Banker? If I recall he was dissed in most games. But he generally made good adjustments at half time and we played better. Seems we may have a couple of decent LBs but the rest of the bunch............

This coaching staff is not good Between the defense, sticking with the Jake Luton roller coaster, not getting our best player the ball the entire first half, the play calling, the strange going for two and then chasing points Could you elaborate on who is our best player? Gebbia didn't get the ball til the last drive, is it him? I don't recall Togiai getting the ball in the first half, but there's mentions in several earlier threads he's a penalty or a drop waiting to happen, can he be our best player? I didn't see Gumbs get the ball in the first half, but he did have 2 sacks and at least 1 TFL, maybe he's the best player you're talking about? C'mon, be specific. Our best player is Jefferson and he had 5 carries with 2 minutes left in the first half

Our best player is Jefferson and he had 5 carries with 2 minutes left in the first half Out best player is Isaiah Hodgins. Pierce is not really a drop off at all from Jefferson, so I don’t care which one of them gets carries. Togiai and Aydon have been hyped since before either of them got here, and neither of them have ever impressed me. I think of them similar to guys like Ryan McCants and Obum Gwacham.....physical specimens that aren’t good football players. Gwacham I will give credit for reinventing himself as a DE. Offensive line was fine as far as I could tell. Pierce and Jefferson both were over 5 yards a carry and gave up one sack in 49 pass attempts, which also doesn’t include times Luton or Gebbia tucked it and gained yardage when nobody was open. Defensively, I saw little pass pressure, though people who watched on TV were raving about Gumbs. From the South Endzone, I didn’t notice it. Where was Isaiah Dunn? If he played, I didn’t notice. Nashon played well from what I could tell. Grant and Moku Watson did not. Everyone’s all American Avery Roberts never made an impact. I did think that we did a better job of not getting gashed straight up the middle, save the one 50 yard TD run. Lots of closing holes quickly and forcing 3rd Down and long. Unfortunately we did a terrible job on 3rd Down. OkSt isn’t some chump offense, they do that to pretty much everyone, so I’m not ready to throw away the entire season, but our perimeter D needs to improve in a hurry for us to be competitive this year.

Don’t you dare speak that way of Roberts. I remember like two big hits all game and they were both him. I agree with your takes on the offense. Pierce every bit as good as Jefferson. Hodgins totally legit and line and QB play were competitive. Elu Aydon is absolutely not good at football. I saw a third down play where he literally did not make contact with the guy across from him. Just stood up and shuffled around. The DBs are also mostly terrible. Almost every pass was either to an open man or P.I. Tackling on the outside was missed by poor angles or just being s%#tty. I ride for Roberts and Gumbs. Not many other P5 caliber guys on that side, including the coordinator. Let’s hand the reins over to Bray now, it’s headed that way anyway.

He is playing pretty well... but, like 1 of 13 in the red zone or this game would be a laugher. More impressed with BSU defensive presence/scheme and the great adjustments at halftime vs the FSU passing game that tore them up. Gave up 31 in 1st half... 0 this half with 6 min left. I'll take the DC and some of those players! 106 plays and counting for BSU offense!

Can somebody, anybody explain to me why colletto is in two deep on kick return? Do we have only two players that can catch a kick colletto and Fleming's?
