It is pretty red neckish. Reminds me of the Arkansas Souy call in Omaha...every play. That’s your opinion and you’re entitled to it. I grew up around family members who worked in the woods. They were hell-bent on our generation getting college educations so we wouldn’t have to do that dangerous, back breaking work. But I’ll never say anything bad about those folks who work in that essential industry. I like the chainsaw. But I’m just one vote. You are not the only one in the NW that had family and friends who worked the woods. I have myself. Good friend was killed setting chokers. No disrespect intended, but I thought we were playing football, not logging. Why is saying get rid of the chain saw saying bad things about the folks that work in that essential industry? It's an essential sound when logging, not at a football game. I live in Arizona, my son goes to NAU, they are called the Lumberjacks...no chainsaw sound. If the sound offends some of us that wear orange glasses can you imagine what it does to visitors or people on TV that say that is so country bush league. Sort of the way the Hog call sounds at an Arkansas game. If we don't eliminate it completely it should be used sparingly. I hate the chainsaw, but I'm just one vote

I always thought The chainsaw is the “Bat-signal” for our opponent to break off a big gainer for first down, or for the back judge to call defensive holding.

I am being serious here. In an old-growth forest, is there any way to accurately tell how old a tree is before it is cut down? Is there any way of knowing this sacred tree was 400 years old? I'm no forester but I believe you can take a core for growth rings. Then I think you very scientifically count them. OK. But if there are hundreds of trees being cut, what are the chances you take a core sample from the one that is 400 years old?

There was a survey a few years back where other coaches overwhelmingly voted the chainsaw as one of the most annoying things in a visiting game experience. Good reason to keep it.

Uh huh, annoys them enough to have about a 90% success rate on 3rd down over the last 5 years. Maybe we should quit annoying them so much.
