While I’m not anti-chainsaw like some of you guys are (though I get that it’s a harbinger of a first down for the opponent right now) I am decidedly anti-TNT. We have a dance cam for a song that’s incredibly hard to dance to. When done right, the 3rd quarter song can serve as a motivating factor to keep people coming back after halftime. Yes, on field performance helps, but nobody leaves a Wisconsin game before Jump Around or a Red Sox game before Sweet Caroline at the seventh inning stretch. I hesitate to include Shout at Autzen, but same thing. Crowd loves it. Nobody loves TNT. I’m very pro giving things a shot and not pulling the plug prematurely, but we’ve gotta be getting close to a straight decade of TNT, and I don’t know anyone who loves it. Last night, when it went into the incredibly loud guitar solo/chord mashing riff of interminable length, I just couldn’t wait for it to be over.
I don’t know what the answer is, but my recommendation is either a song with a built in dance/arm motion, or a song that everyone enjoys singing along to. Ideally both.
But not YMCA.

All I’m saying is that I went to Fenway last summer and everyone was singing along and having a good time in the stands despite the fact the Sox were getting beat by the Twins and had generated zero offense all night. Retirees and kids alike were singing along. Is it a dumb song? Sure. But it works as a crowd but there that everyone looks forward to.

It's a great song which is why so many people like to sing it.

I am a lifelong Neil fan(teenager when solitary man came out), but not a huge Sweet Caroline fan, and definitely not a fan of the so good echo. It is not the lost shaker of salt.

Sweet Caroline is definitely NOT a fan favorite seventh-inning-stretch tradition at Fenway.
It's played in the middle of the 8th.

Here’s my proposition. You play it for the first defensive 3rd down opportunity. If they get the stop you play it again at the next 3rd down opportunity. But if they don’t you don’t play it until they do get a stop and then you play it for the subsequent 3rd down situation.
In other words, you gotta earn the chainsaw.

So, this is another are where the Beavers are complete amateurs. Consider the fans But, more importantly, consider the athletes. What song is ‘current’ and creates a sing along environment, but, is still relevant and INSPIRING to the team AND the fans. There may be some $ involved, and - par for the course- OSU will go for the cheapest approach. That means something by an unknown dead artist, where royalties have dropped to the level of a dime store jukebox. Why dance to it ? If the stands ever get back to near capacity - there won’t be room for dancing !

Holy effing s%#t, please tell us you know what trolling is! while this thread is definitely a designed detour, not sure it is a "troll". The title is clickbait, designed to lure in the rubberneckers who think someone is piling on the coaches, then you do a little dance. Well played NA!
