Fewest points allowed since Southern Utah 366 days ago. Fewest points against an FBS team since Stanford in 2017, 19 games ago. Fewest points against a road opponent since Stanford in 2016, 30 games ago. Fewest points allowed to a non-conference FBS opponent since Minnesota in the opener in 2016. 31 points is great, but the defense was lucky to not give up more with three missed field goals. Only five teams allowed more than 31 points to Hawai'i in regulation in 2018, and one was FCS Duquesne. The four FBS teams went a combined a combined 12-38 (.240) in 2018. One team allowed exactly 31 points in regulation to Hawai'i in 2018 and that was 1-11 San Jose State. In 2019 only one team has held Hawaii under 45 points. Care to bet $500.00 that the number is two after Saturday? Anyone?

Blount's punch was clearly a sucker punch (meaning the recipient had now warning or means to protect himself from such a powerful blow) and the punch was preceded by no physical provocation. It also happened long enough after the game for both sidelines to be on the field with, most with helmets off. He threw the sucker punch, probably with some verbal provocation, but it didn't end there. Don't forget he then went on an extended tirade including pushing/taking a swing at own teammates and engaging with fans. He had to be restrained and escorted off the field. It went well beyond a momentary emotional impulsive outburst it was an extended tirade. This isn't exactly true, since the BSU dude slapped him on the shoulder and yelled something at him. It ended up being a sucker punch, but it looked to me like as Blout was making the decision to take a swing at him, a coach drew his attention away from Blount. The tirade by the stands resulted from a fifty year old man aggressively stalking him down the sideline and yelling "F- you!" amongst other things. Blount was rightly suspended for his actions, but as I recall the suspension might have initially been "for the season," but was amended to "indefinite" before even the next game, leaving a path for him to play if he hit certain benchmarks within his punishment. That he was allowed to play the second half of his final game at Autzen doesn't seem all that fishy to me, even it was extremely unfortunate for Oregon State.
