This season has been not totally unexpected as many pundits forcasted us finished at the bottom of the Pac 12 north. I thought we would struggle, but not to the degree we have. I still strongly believe that the turn of events that lead to our coaching change was a good one. I am fully optimistic of our current coaching staff. It's exciting to see how recruiting is shaping up. It is also refreshing to see our defensive coaches recognize things that are not working in the first half and making adjustments coming out in the second half.
That brings me to next year particularly on the offensive side of the ball. Quarterback, how does Darrell Garretson (forgive me if I have misspelled his name) fit into the mix? Will he be our starter next season? What about Seth? He is a exciting , emotional, hard nose player, particularly running the ball. Every time he gets into the secondary he is a threat to take it to the house. Nick? Marcus? Incoming freshman Moran (I believe that's his name) from Arizona. Answering my own question, I could see Darrell starting, Seth moved to wide receiver, Nick as backup and redshirting Moran. Running back, I see Ryan Nall as our starter next year. That guy is a stud! Big, strong, tough and most of all he has heart.
Defensively I am not sure. We have, given they sign letters of intent, two 4 star BD's for next season. I have a tremendous amount of respect for our defensive coordinator and the rest of his staff. He will get kids who will know how to tackle, be in position and be aggressive. Having the opportunity to work last spring and fall ball, one full season, plus next spring and fall ball will be invaluable. I fully expect our defenses of the future to be among the best in the conference as long as we can keep our staff in place.
Interested to hear what you all have to say. GO BEAVS, ftd
