Perfect time slot IMO. Winnable game, students on campus, marching band in the house - could be a good day!

It is a perfect time slot. EXCEPT we have some good friends who are having a going away party at...4PM. Now I know what you're all thinking, and believe me I'm thinking it too. Get new friends. This is more about not making my wife take 3 kids to a party at someone else's house than me saying goodbye to someone I can definitely still text when they move. Positive note, group of friends are all Beavers so the game will be on with a nice spread.
4th missed game since 2002 (1st non-wedding related). Pretty good record.

Ahhh... just have them include the party in the game... what better going away gift as a Beaver win over Furd! Pre-function, attend game, then back for the post-function party by 8pm (if they live reasonably close!?) easy peasy

I think next week will be my sixth missed game since starting at OSU as a freshman in 1997:
Stanford 2019 (youth sports) Cal Poly 2019 (youth sports) Colorado 2013 (youth sports) Sacramento St 2011 (already road tripping to Wisconsin for the Badger game) Oregon 2008 (Thanksgiving with the wife's family - I distinctly remember being OK with missing this game because it meant there would be no issue with me missing Xmas/New Year's to go to the Rose Bowl....so much for that.) Eastern Washington 2006 (again visiting the wife's family my brother reminded me that this was the week of my wedding reception) UCLA 1999 (I think I chose to go play in some sort of basketball game at The Hoop with my brother instead).

Man... that UCLA game.... we had I don’t know how many there.... 20 ?……… recent grads and friends. No hope of winning... then we did !!! Helluva a tailgate. UCLA alumni were tailgating at the old track. Now softball/soccer. Me and and a bud stole their UCLA flag.... lol. Good times.

That is a tough call. Wait, did you say the week of your reception? Not the actual day? Weak sauce. Unless you were honeymooning on some deserted Caribbean island. Then I will allow it

The reception was in my wife's hometown 1,500 miles away three months after our wedding
