Even though Riley's season now resembles a Greek tragedy, he'll survive.
Giving up 55 freaking points to a 1-6 Purdue team, plus all the other lousy defensive performances by the once-heralded Black Shirts, SHOULD get Banker run out of town on a rail.
But Riley won't do it and if the AD insists or else, Riley will walk.

The problem with the Nebraska game I saw was their QB and receivers and deep defenders. Their offense was the primary problem I think. Banker uses sort of an antiquated defense as I believe we all know, but IMO the D while it wasn't stout was not the primary problem.

Their offense is a problem, but their defense today anyway is by far a bigger problem.

I think he'll last.... But if they lose out and get drilled by MSU and Iowa.....wouldn't be surprised if Big Red admits they F'ed up and cut their losses....

Riley is a "dead man walking", he is already fired just a matter of when they do it now. They are not going to let him drive their program into the ground like he did here over last 3 years.

I'm not sure if the AD and board can swallow their ego and admit this was a mistake... yet.
As we all know if the big $ say it's enough it will be a done deal. I'm sure there are two to three or more MAJOR boosters that if on the sane page can buy out that staff easily.
If you begin to hear rumors of Nebraska cronies putting out feelers than Riley can start thinking of San Antonio full time.
It a shame, with a little flexibility and less blind loyalty he could have had us over the hump. In this day and age of delegating to coordinators and his even/folksy temperament he could have drawn some great people here.
But, it's the coaching world, eventually everyone gets fired and tries. Riley had as good as run as most.

Good thing Riles kept his house in C town. He'll be up close to see how it can be done in Corvallis
(I hope he gets his security deposit back in Lincoln)

Agreed, dead man walking, it's simply a matter of time. I also think their AD will be out if the losing continues the balance of the season, which after this last weekend for them it appears they are on track to do just that!

He will at least get another year. They wont cut him a check for $12M plus the assistants signed multi-year deals. Its at minimum $15M to have him walk at the end of the year

Their AD just issued a dreaded vote of confidence message to the fan base.

Quote from Riley's press conference today.
"Riley talks about how he knows all these people in the coaching ranks, but he can't seem to get these guys on his staff."
Same old song and dance, my friend.
