I want to see him have the ball in space with the potential to throw a pass. He may not be the best pure passer on the roster but he has completed passes at this level.

I want to believe that CGA has not opened the entire playbook just yet, and is saving something for Pac-12 foes certainly, and Boise State possibly. The defense scheme so far , looks very vanilla as well. IMHO.

Is was man up for a lot of last game vs. a CB half his size... saving that part of the playbook too??

Well, when is Villy going to start looking like a Pac-12 receiver again? His drops certainly may have something to do with number of targets he is now getting. He should be leading this team by a large margin in receiving, but the promise he showed his freshman year seems to have been an anomoly. Hope I'm wrong, and he comes on strong the rest of the season.

Agree on Villamin - need for him to start making an impact.

Speaking of the Running Game, what running Game? One thing is clear and that is Nall is not Nall. Absolutely no speed this year. Nall can't even make a yard when we need it.

Hard to look like a Pac-12 reciever when you do not have a pac-12 QB throwing at you. Villy is a huge mismatch for most CBs. I agree that he should be getting a whole lot more looks, particularly on middle deep post routes, use that big body on a high percentage throw over the top. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Nall can't even make a yard when we need it. ya Nall looks like he is still hurt(he looked banged up againt Minnesota after two plays), thats the trouble with big tall Rb/s they get hurt so easy, looks like Nall should get put in to the TE's position since he's lost so much speed and constantly looks like he hurt. idk, what do u all think they should do with Nall?

I wouldn't say "this year" about a lack of speed for Nall. It might be more accurate to say after the 2nd quarter in the Minn. game. In the beginning of the Minn. game he was moving really well. After he got dinged, he slowed down quite a bit. This happened last season too. I remember the Colorado game, where he was almost getting a first down every time he ran the ball and then he came up lame and left the game. I really hope that isn't his MO. He seems like a great kid, sometimes guys have bad luck getting dinged up and RB is a tough position with all of the contact but if he could stay healthy for an entire season, it would be really interesting to see what kind of season he could turn out. I think at his best, he'd really help the offense by establishing that running game and opening up some plays in the passing/play action game. It would make a big difference. Go Beavs!

Doesn't matter who the QB is, if you can't protect the passer, you're not going to be able have a guy get enough time to; drop back, set his feet and throw downfield. Garretson could barely get his drop steps in last game before he had a defender breathing down his neck. Go Beavs!
