Beg to differ, but the weather is going to be much worse for the OSU/Utah game, maybe not as much rain, but punters kicking towards the scoreboard might see their punts fly back over their heads - the best running game is going to win this match. Could be. It will assuredly be colder. Sustained wins were between 17 and 25 mph with a peak gust of 41 mph. It may be windier on Saturday but not my much, and I doubt that there is a 41 mph peak gust. Plus, as you said, I doubt that they get the 3.69" of rain during the game. Both field goals were with the wind and both kickers slipped while kicking the field goals. NC State's game winning touchdown was a 16-yard return of a blocked punt into the wind. 95 combined passing yards. 216 combined rushing yards. It looked miserable. right now forecast is 55 mph peak gust potential, but that could change (and possibly substantially), stay tuned

offense will be challenged this week:
weather is not good for shotgun Nall with bad wheel Utah D tackle to tackle is a wall.
Need: Turnovers and points from the D Spring Bolden returning short kicks into the wind 22 getting some direct snaps, selling the run to pull the safeties up then Throw It

Really MBA? I know you are a weather geek. I turned on the ND - NCSU game and was amazed at how much water was on the field. I'm not sure what the rate of rainfall was, but the sand based field could not percolate it. The announcers said it was a steady wind of 15 to 20. On a side note, I bet the under for the 2nd half (17-1/2) and then saw home games at North Carolina, Duke and Wake Forest. I bet the under on all those and hit four for four. . . . . have an under bet on our game on Saturday.

I felt like DG had nice touch in the spring game on deep balls, now not so much... Injury or gun shy?

I think it is simply an utter lack of touch. putting air under it and dropping it into a garbage can at 40 yards is not in his tool set. getting it over the LBs and dropping it down on a deep post at 20 yards? probably not so much. LOL it is most definitely not. Seriously, has he completed a pass downfield where the ball traveled more than 25 yards? I missed most of the Colorado game, but I can't recall any from the others. Actually I take that back. I do recall a bomb that Bolden made a great catch on, but not sure who threw it. Wilky is right, low scoring game. Hopefully the crowd is fired up and loud, I wish this game was at night. Anyone know the status of Nall? I'm going to go way out on a limb and say OS gets to 3-3 and 2-1 in conference. Utah's injury woes and poor road showing is just what this young confident group of kids needs the week after Cal. Who else do we get at home this year...UCLA, Oregon, Arizona? 5-4 or bust in conference dammit! But I'll take 2-7.lol, you lost me with this. We're "busting" but you'll take it?

1983 Toilet Bowl. Not as much rain, during the game, but it was rainier in the week before. The ten days leading up to the game had been absolutely miserable, very wet and windy. And it was windier than 2001. 39 mph peak gust. Plus, Autzen still had the 1976 AstroTurf. The effect was a lot like watching teams play on a sheet of ice. After the game, Oregon tore up the AstroTurf and replaced it with OmniTurf. The weather was bad on game day, but it was worse on the coast. In Newport, the Blue Magpie ran into the Yaquina Harbor Jetty causing Oregon's worst environmental disaster up until the New Carissa crashed in 1999.

1991 Civil War Game--Rain (lots of it), some wind--miserable day. All the more miserable with ducks winning 7-0.

1991 Civil War Game--Rain (lots of it), some wind--miserable day. All the more miserable with ducks winning 7-0. 1992 Civil War, I am guessing. (1991 Civil War was a 14-3 Oregon State win.) More rain than 1983 or 2001 but not as windy. I would bump it to the top of the list, because it was in Corvallis, as opposed to Eugene.

worst weather game that anyone can recall? 9/18/2004. At home versus New Mexico. Beavs had loss a heartbreaker to LSU and there were completely schlacked by Boise State at Boise. We played a non-broadcasted 1pm home game against New Mexico. It rained over a half of inch that day and was about 50 degrees. certainly not terrible per se, but when you couple the emotion of the team at the time, and the fact the game was a 17-7 snoozer, and I had bottom row on the west side seats, and you know, water runs downhill... ugh. the whole thing sucked.
