And... those in the know... I like the feature of his updates sent directly to your email if you donated. Is that part of the site settings for GoFundMe or something Mike's wife has to do do on her own?

Is that part of the site settings for GoFundMe or something Mike's wife has to do do on her own? In other cases where I've donated to a GoFundMe fund, I've received direct e-mails with updates. There may be a way to turn it on or off, but it's seemingly on by default (at least for me).

TODAY by Kerry Denison, Organizer Hi everyone,
Michael is still working hard on his speech and arm. Virus has caused cancellations for therapy, but last week started online speech therapy. He does his exercises at least 3x a day on his arm and 2 friends also work with him on his speech every week. Still not getting full sentences out. Sometimes not the correct word he’s trying to say either. It’s only up from here though. Just lots of time. He’s coming along slowly but surely. Still has a great attitude. Beautiful weather helps him to get outside and on his riding mower and tractor. Still walks at least 3x a day also.
Hope you all are hanging in there with all the strange things this virus has caused in the world. Love and peace to everyone. Michael & Kerry

Folks, you really need to include Kerry in your prayers. I know that with what mrs sage has been going through, life is tough, tough, tough on the care giver. She has to be going through absolute hell right now caring from someone she loves. Hang in there Kerry, I know what you are going through.

Lates update from Kerry:
Michael and I have been keeping very busy around the house with yardwork and chores. Getting prepared to start the backyard Oasis project for Michael‘s recovery & Zen area.
We thank everyone of you who donated to Michael’s bills & Oasis project. It’s truly taken some of the stress from his stroke & everything else going on.
Michael's still walking a lot & works his arm daily. He’s started to eat with his bad arm with help of larger handle utensils. He’s still unable to text or type. Writing & spelling still very difficult. His comprehension is excellent. He understands what everyone is talking about & can read well.
The 3rd picture tells about the difficulty that he’s having with speech. Talked with his speech therapist & she explained to me that because he has both aprexia & aphasia, it’s going to take much longer for him to get his speech back. Most people that have had stroke in same area of brain, only have one or the other. Michael has both. Therapist said he was in the severe category when he started with her in February, he’s still in the severe category as of today. He cannot speak much on his own & make sense. He can finish therapist sentence sometimes if she reads the first part, or makes the first letter sound to help him get word out. He can say yes, no, what & yell fairly well. He still shakes his head wrong most times when saying yes or no.
His attitude is still great. Friends & family get him to laugh a lot. He likes to tease people also. Pulling or blowing in their ear. He’s taking his stroke well, even though gets frustrating when trying to get something across to people.
Again, thanks to everyone, it has really touched our hearts. Hope all is well with everyone with everything going on in the world. Very strange times. We will get through this. I hope in the long run, the world will become a better place. Love & help each other.
Michael & Kerry

by Kerry Denison, Organizer Michael is still working hard, walking multiple times a day. Working out his arm & hand. Still in speech therapy once a week. Speaking slightly more, but still very hard to get the word out he’s trying to say. Spirits are still up & still has sense of humor. I’m getting him out with friends/family once an while. Have been camping a few times. Did have a scare when he had a Tonic Seizure while camping early one morning. Paramedics came but after episode ended, he said he did not need to go to hospital. Hasn’t had one since & I hope he never does. We saw doctor & have appointment with neurologist tomorrow. He’s been mowing & on his tractor a lot, preparing for winter to hit. We need to get pavers & fountain in place for Mikey’s oasis soon, as weather will stop us from getting the work done. I didn’t write down a list of people who volunteered to help. That was also before virus hit. Looking at sometime between November 6th-24th. If you are comfortable and still willing to help, please send a message through this website. Again, thank you for all your support & prayers. This has helped & will help us tremendously. Love & peace to all. I don't know Lucky but I want to add this. Twenty years ago my brother in his early 40s had a severe stroke. He also had/has impaired speech, right side immobility, etc.. While the physical and mental challenges were/are difficult the most difficult thing he faced is losing friendships as many slowly faded away. I urge those of you that have friendships with Mike to continue visiting, calling etc...

I'm still working with Mike once or twice a week on speech Anyone who regularly interacted with Mike, please do so. He's the same guy but will have difficulty responding verbally - speaking and texting. I think he misses most of you :-). This would have been easier if there were tailgates and games to watch in person. Mike was going to wrestling and baseball before COVID. Mike has his phone on and will probably see your texts. Or, reach out to Kerry. Or, contact me and I can help you get connected.
