I get your point. But, when you discover character issues about a minor, your have to be very, very careful and keep your mouths shut. Simply make contact and tell him the offer is gone. More than that and any publicity or press can cause legal issues to bite you in the ass. Working for a public agency, "no comment" was the smart answer and kick it up the chain of command. We'll never know, but I wager they learned something serious and took action. Who knows when. You're still not getting my argument. I’ve never disagreed that the school wouldn’t say anything. I’m saying the recruit would have made it known he was back on the market. It’s not that complex.

OK, gotcha, Thanks for your patience. Now, it appears he no longer on the market except for a Longest Yard team.

My inclination is to side with Spud on this. No way cristobal dropped him months ago with no word hitting the street. I kind of agree. Too high profile of a recruit to of cut ties with him and not have it make news. Either way, they clearly have cut ties now. And don't get me wrong, I love mocking the ducks as much as the next guy, but literally any school on this earth can have a bad apple fall through the cracks. lets not pretend like all of OSU's kids are choir boys. Somethingsomething people in glass houses and all that. Eh, what am I saying, this is a Beaver board and the offseason. Ducks and their gangsta' ass recruits all suck.

Attempted premeditated murder is a little beyond "bad apple" territory. At least Brandon Browner waited until he was a decade removed from Corvallis before he started his crime spree.

Fun fact, Brandon Browner was the NFL's most-penalized player in 2015 and finished second in 2011 and 2014. That's a gold and two silvers for those playing at home.

Believe what you want but it has been clear since January that the ducks were no longer recruiting Luke Hill. Justin Hopkins has made that clear for months.

Whoever it is he doesn’t appear to have a lot of juice, since it never made the local or national news. Easy enough, just post a real story showing they cut ties, and I’ll stand corrected.

If so, there is no more "recruiting" that needs to be done. After signing, I think a player needs to be formally released or something. Where is that information?

Yes, he signed a LOI. he was an early enrollee signing for Oregon on 12/23/19. Oregon would have to formally release him from his LOI. There is none of this "no longer recruiting him" spin. If Oregon formally released Hill in January, that action did not make any news, which is surprising for a 4* CB with offers from Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Michigan, Nebraska, and 17 other D-1 programs. The only news about his release that I can find, say a University of Oregon representative says "Hill was informed he won't be joining the Ducks earlier this Spring". BUT whatevs. honestly this kid is messed up, a gangster wanna be and now he threw his life away over some stupid bulls%#t. It is sad.

It doesn’t mean he will be part of the team. It was signed in December and less than a month later his relationship with Oregon was over. Those are the facts. He no longer had the opportunity to play at Oregon.
